Finished Reading:
Stag's Leap: Poems ⭐⭐ (PS leap in title)
Not one poem stood out good or bad.
Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 15 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Heartstopper: Volume Five ⭐⭐⭐ (PS LGBTQ+ romance)
I still find Charlie annoying oh well.
Redbone: The True Story of a Native American Rock Band ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (PS non-fiction about Indigenous People)
Random graphic novel I picked from the library that was a great surprise. I knew there song "Come and get your love" from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 but that was it. I took a star off because the start was a bit confusing with how the scenes were placed.
One True Loves ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (PS second chance romance)
Yet another hit from TJR.
Dinosaur Sanctuary, Vol. 1 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (ATY Science or Sci-fi)
The Manga author consulted with a paleontologist who has factoids at the end of each chapter.
PS 4/50
ATY 1/52
Goodreads 6/150

QOTW:
I'm vary happy with last year's reading because I finished all my goals.
This year I plan to do PS and ATY. I want to finish off the Fullmetal Alchemist series and the Omens series by Kelley Armstrong. There is an ATY rejects challenge for the list prompts that'll try but I'm not concerned with finishing it.

Bucket list travel - London (I can’t remember the other city it takes place in right now)
Bildungsroman
Recommended by a bookseller, I saw it recommended at my usual bookstore

I've read close to 300 things with many 5 stars so here it goes:
Swing novel in verse
I discovered Kwame Alexander and all 7 books of his I read were 5 stars.
Fourth Wing romantasy
I reread this and loved the sequel too.
Where the Crawdads Sing historical fiction/mystery thriller
I loved the nature details and poetry within plus the mystery kept me guessing.
Magic Claims urban fantasy/sci-fi
My favourite author duo added a duology to my favourite series.
Carrie Soto Is Back historical fiction
I didn't think TJR could best the others in the series but this was my favourite of the four.
Kinauvit?: What’s Your Name? The Eskimo Disc System and a Daughter’s Search for her Grandmother non fiction indigenous/Canadian history
I learned a lot because I had not heard of the Disc System at all. I used this for the should have read during highschool because we should have been taught about this history.
The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi fantasy
Well researched with amazing characters.
I'll stop there.

Finished Reading:
The Serpent and the Wings of Night ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A dark romantasy choice but really good. Now I'm impatient for my library to bring in the novella and end to this duology.
What You Need to Be Warm ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Neil Gaiman asked about memories of being warm and created a poem. He then got various artists to create artwork for the lines. He gifted this to the U.N. branch that deals with refugees. This wouldn't count for at least 24 poems but it could work for a genre you usually avoid, ie illustrated poem.
Monstress, Vol. 8: Inferno ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A little bit confused with what is happening but that's what happens when you have a year in between complex stories.
The Polar Express ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cute Christmas story idea.
The Grimrose Path ⭐⭐⭐
Urban fantasy with angels and demons plus every other mythology. Too much first person where the character hides everything from you the reader.
Saga, Volume 11 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
More of a filler collection but still so good.
Vinyl Cafe: A Christmas Collection ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Excellent to listen to during a Christmas road trip. Vinyl Cafe by Stuart Mclean was a radio program on CBC following a Dave who owned the smallest record store The Vinyl Cafe and his family. This fictional family gets into funny shenanigans.
Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 14 ⭐⭐⭐
This was filler but I will finish the series in 2024.
A Man and His Cat, Vol. 1 ⭐⭐
There is no plot so the cuteness wore off quick.

QOTW:
I will be reading Stag's Leap: Poems for the Leap in the title prompt. I had nothing in my tbr and used the listopia to pick something out and it came in right away from the library. I'm also holding off on A House with Good Bones Wynd, Book One: The Flight of the Prince and Three Holidays and a Wedding

I just read the first book in the duology and the mc is 23.

Finished Reading:
Counterweight ⭐⭐
I liked the writing and idea of a future where an elevator is built to space from Korea but by the end of this novella I had no clue what had happened.
A Light in the Attic ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I liked this the best of all Shel Silverstein's stuff I've read.
The Perfumist of Paris ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was my favourite of the series and I'm sad that it's over. Excellent historical fiction but you really do need to read The Henna Artist first.
We'll Always Have Summer ⭐⭐⭐
Definitely the weakest of the trilogy.
Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries ⭐⭐⭐
This fits a lot of 2024 popsugar prompts.
All-New Firefly: The Gospel According to Jayne, Vol. 1 All-New Firefly: The Gospel According to Jayne, Vol. 2 All-New Firefly: The Gospel According to Jayne, Vol. 3
The artwork was pretty good espically the colouring. The story arc was good and bad.
A Business Proposal, Vol. 3 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Now to wait for more translations to be published.
Beach Read ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Reread that was much better than the first time. It was better because I knew to skim over any mention of what the character's books were about. I would not read either of them if they existed.
Mr. Villain's Day Off 02 ⭐⭐⭐
It's cute but there's no plot.
The Love Wager ⭐⭐
Rom-com sequel. The first one was better, this used the fake dating trope but it was ridiculous and I was done with the plot before the halfway mark.

Don't know yet, ignore the currently reading shelf that says 17 things. 🤣
QOTW:
Nope. I constantly look at how many pages and chapters there are and I don't like reading reviews until after I've read a book too. If the ending is spoiled it's hard to pick a book up when there are so many other stories out there.

12 down 8 to go I think."
I believe there are 27 books in the series!"
Haha thanks! I haven't bothered to add them all to the tbr because I end up reading them right when they come in at the library. I knew 20 for sure. :)

Anyway I've read many things this week because of the ATY read-a-thon. Most have been four or five star books but there was one dud.
Finished Reading:
Cold Curses ⭐⭐⭐
Series ender that suffered from wrapping everything up in a happy ending.
Revenge of the Librarians ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A great collection of comics for readers.
It's Not Summer Without You ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jenny Han does a good job with ya.
A Business Proposal, Vol. 1 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Business Proposal, Vol. 2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is basically a k-drama manga. Unfortunately the rest of the series hasn't quite been translated yet.
Bryony and Roses ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The beauty and the beast story with Belle as a gardener. This is the third T. Kingfisher and her books seems to be great for prompts next year.
Sheets ⭐
This made me angry so I couldn't give it more than one star. There's a way to write middle grade for that age group without making all of your characters stupid. Also this was so very depressing.
Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 9, Vol. 10, Vol. 11, Vol. 12 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
12 down 8 to go I think.
When Clouds Touch Us ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Inside Out & Back Again got a sequel this year. This time Ha and family move to Texas.
The Princess Diarist ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Carrie Fisher and her daughter do the audio book and it's really good.
PS 50/50
ATY 52/52
Nadine's 10/10
Goodreads 272/250

QOTW:
Well overall I think it is a great list for 2024. It's definitely more challenging than last year but right now it seems managable. ;) I haven't started to plan yet so my thoughts will change.
I'm looking forward to the k-pop prompt.
I too dislike the Nano prompt again. I fudged this for 23 but T. Kingfisher has a book so this actually has something I want to read for it.

Not only did Hayley Wickenheiser spend decades playing hockey and paving the way for other women, she became a mom and doctor in her spare time. Lol
