My name is Dimple. I am a 19 years old engineering student who blogs. I was looking for groups to join and I loved the name of this group. So, here I am. :)"
Hi Dimple, welcome to RMFAO :)
I hope you'll have fun interacting with other book lovers here.
We have a few year-long challenges (the most loved is the Genre Challenge.) If you wish to take part then feel free to join in. The new challenges will begin from 1st January.
If you need any help navigating then let me (or Dagny, the other moderator) know. We'll be more than happy to help.
Have fun!
PS: You can also share your blog link, latest post link and reading likes and dislikes in the respective threads.

And @Dagny I've been lusting after The Martian from quite some time now! Looking forward to your review for this one :)
I have just the right book for this month: The World's Best Fairy Tales. It's my grandfather's book and one of my most precious possessions! There are more than a dozen fairy tales in it (around 25 or so.) I'm really looking forward to reading it.
Also, I have a handful of comics for this month. Hopefully, I'll get to read a few more. :)

The first paragraph is the key: "Historical fiction presents a story set in the past, often during a significant time period. In historical fiction, the time period is an important part of the setting and often of the story itself.""
Yay! Thanks a lot Dagny! I'll definitely read this one and I'm right away downloading the illustrated one. After reading Manga it'll be quite interesting to read it :)
I tried the Librivox links but they as soon as I click on them it is saying "the links are banned" for both of them... Is there some other way i can get the audio for Scarlet Letter?
Thanks a bunch, Dagny :)

I'm only vaguely familiar with Manga Classics. Haven't seen one, but have seen a couple of ads or reviews or something that brought..."
I agree about the steroid thing! They are Japanese illustrations of the famous Classics (Emma, Les Mis, The Scarlet Letter, Pride And Prejudice and Great Expectations.) So far I think only these are available.
I just read The Scarlet Letter and it was amazing! It was so good that I read it in one sitting only!
And in all it had like 312 pages of graphic... so yea, considering the dialogues it's pretty much a short story retelling only. I'm so glad that they can be counted here :D Saves me a lot of trouble.. hehe!
I'm not a Classics fan, but after reading The Scarlet Letter in Manga I'm actually feeling like getting the original story and reading it :)
SO if I'll get some time next month I can read these classic novels as well. ( Can The Scarlet Letter be counted as Historical?)

Book #1: The War of the Worlds
Book #2: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
Book #3:Dune
Book #4: Journey to the Center of the Earth
Book #5: The Thirty-Nine Steps
Book #6: The Affair at the Victory Ball: A Short Story
Book #7: The King of Clubs: A Short Story
Book #8: The Jewel Robbery at the Grand Metropolitan: A Short Story
Book #9: Around the World in 80 Days
Book #10: The Disappearance of Mr. Davenheim: A Short Story
Book #11: The Plymouth Express: A Hercule Poirot Short Story
Book #12: Greenmantle
Book #13: A Pocket Full of Rye
Out of there 13, 4 are short stories and are also a part of one huge book of some 1000 pages.
I'm going to pick up from here... BTW, @Dagny I was wondering if Manga Classics will be counted as classics?

So, it's a 1/5 for me (DNF)
I've started with The Child Garden and Home Is Where The Start Is. I'm really liking the first one so far.

Thanks, Steve. This way we all can easily catch up with each other's reviews :)

This is a separate page for sharing your recent reviews. You can share your review links here (Goodreads as well as others.)
Enjoy!

Nice choice!!!

I'll go through all your comments later and get all the books from your links, Dagny :)
Great reading spirit Simona and Dagny! Cheers :D

I'm yet to read the last book, hopefully next month :)

I agree, Margaret! Even I found the book far better than the movie :)
Have you read Duma Key?

fledgling by Octavia Butler - I was pretty disappointed by this new age vampire tale. Butler was capable of better.
My Review
Come Closer by Sara Gran - I definitely recommend this..."
Wow! Great going, Richard!

Aww... You're the best, Professor :)
Guess I'll be able to read only 2 this month, but I'm going to try and read a third one as well :)

Thanks a lot, Steve! Good to be here again.
I can see you've already read 8 for this month! Great going :)

Welcome, everyone! I'm so excited to have you all here :)
I hope you guys will enjoy the various challenges and will participate in our group reads.

I have a few book that I wanted to read this month:
1. World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
2. Ascendance: Dave vs. the Monsters
If I'll read these in time then I might read the second part of Dave vs the Moster's Trilogy.
