Really?! Have you ever read LOTR or any other YA book for that matter?
OMG! I'm lagging far far behind!!!I'll start with my classic reads next month.
Anyways, @Dagny sorry for getting back to you so late, but seems like no one I know reads Indian literature! lol! But here's a list of some great Indian classic reads: https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
I hope it'll help you pick up atleast one.
I'm sure this list has Ramayana and Mahabharata... they are our holly books. Mythology and all. Mahabharata is full of Game Of Thrones type stuff: love, violence, morals, family, The Ultimate War, good, evil, loyalty, etc.
Ramayana is more like an intense fairytale... I'll recommend Ramayana for sure. :)
I'm done with book one and I LOVED it!!!!!I'll be starting with the second one tomorrow....
I loved Rowling's writing and it was such a treat... after a real, really long time I read a book tucked in my cozy bed (and sometimes couch), forgetting all my worries and the need to finish the book fast. I totally lost myself in this magical world and I wish I can go in the book in some way!
The book is so simple and plain, something that I was not expecting at all! I thought that it will be full of fast-paced, tricky-name stuff but to my pleasant surprise, it was a really cozy read... and above all I love the jacket of my book, it feels like Wax.... If you're wondering then this is the one I have:
Dagny wrote: "The first chapter was quite interesting. I didn't know anything about his parents but their names and nothing about his aunt and uncle. I play a lot of trivia and I am always receiving Harry Potte..."ROFL...... OMG! You kidding me! You are just so adorable Dagny... hehe!
I reckon you haven't watched the movies either, eh?
Actually they are pretty good, I'm sure you'll like them :)
Kim wrote: "I wish I had that much willpower! I'm going to try that though. I think your ratio is pretty impressive "Thanks :)
I hope you'll be able to successfully control your NetGalley craving ;)
Kim wrote: "This is embarrassing, but because I've got absolutely NO self control I'm only at 15%. I've managed to keep my requests down to about one per week, and I'm trying to increase my reviews to 2-3 per ..."Haha! I can understand! Actually to get my ratio up I stopped visiting NetGalley for almost 2 months... Finally now my ratio is dancing between 50-60%, but I've started my requesting-quest again and the ratio has started to dip happily! lol!
Kim wrote: "Good Luck. Hopefully she's someone who appreciates honesty."Thanks... I'm sure she'll understand.
Oddly, almost all the other reviewers gave it 5/5... I guess, I'll be the only one whose review she won't be happy about...
Anyways, I'm trying to squeeze in a lot of NetGalley reads as well for this challenge. I hope I'll get my ratio up by the end of this month!
I've always marvelled at the number of NetGalley books you review... If you don't mind me asking, then what is your ratio?? I'm really very curious (as I think it'll be well above 80%!?)
Kim wrote: "That's too bad Heena . I wish you had enjoyed it more"I'm feeling awful because Marigold (the author of this book) is a friend and writing the review will be quite a task as I had quite a bit of issues with the story... So much for being a reviewer!!!
Steve wrote: "That's one "benefit" I don't have: along with never reading the books, I've never seen the movies either. :/"OMG! Really?! I strong recommend the movies... especially the first 3, they are the best!!! :D
I hope you get around to watching them soon!
I'm done with my first read:YA#1 The Black Swan Inheritance: 4/5
It was a good read, though towards the end it was a bit of a slog. It's about a new-born witch (16-17 yr old) whose world turns up-side down by the transformation and it gets even more confusing for her when werewolves and vampires come into the picture.
Though it was a good read, I felt that something was majorly lacking in the overall concept.
Amrita wrote: "Yay! And I hope you love Divergent. I've already read the first two parts of the Trilogy. Need to find time to read the third one now!"I have really high hopes for this series! Will start it by tomorrow :)
Thanks Amrita...
Phoenix wrote: "Hi all. I've decided t read Fault In Out Stars by John Green. Been wanting to read it for a while since the film came out (I haven't seen it, but it got me curious). So here's a perfect opportunity..."That's awesome Phoenix! I loved the book as well as the movie!
If you do like the book then try and watch the movie as well, it's been adapted beautifully!
Hello all! Finally I was able to start with the first one... and I agree with @Dagny... J.K. Rowling's writing is indeed fabulous!
I'm enjoying reading each and every line! And the entire scenes are running in my mind with utmost clarity, thanks to the amazing movie adaptation that I've watched atleast 50 times by now.
I've started reading The Black Swan Inheritance by Marigold Dicer (review-request) and I'm half way through :)Will be starting with Divergent and HP#1 tomorrow!

I'm with you Steve... me too first time!!!
Amrita wrote: "I recently finished reading 'The hunger Games'. So I'll be starting with 'Catching fire' soon. Young Adult is my new favorite. So excited!"
OMG! I love The Hunger Games Series!!!
If only I had more time to re-read them...
I hope you enjoy reading the next 2 in the series :)
