139812 (( IDEA! Delia or Leah goes to kill Zeke while he's in a vulnerable state, then Hadley throws herself infront? Or is that a bad idea? ))

Hadley could hear him breaking. She could feel it. She heard him start to speak, let him finish, then wrapped her hands around his waist. "Shh." she said. Not wanting to hurt himself further by explaining. "I understand. Its okay Ezekiel. I promise." She said, adding volume to her voice, trying to sound more like she knew what she was talking about. She didn't know how he died nor was she going to ask.

139812 Hadley instantaneously regretted speaking at all. What had she said wrong? What was wrong? What did she do? Her face speaking nothing but concern, she sat waiting for Zeke to reply. He seemed to be in pain, but not the physical kind. She thought hard about what he said. That she won't be able to meet him. That his name was Aiden. "Oh." she whispered, finally figuring it out. She wanted to help him, do anything to fix it, but there was nothing she could do. She saw her protector break inside, and she felt sorry for even asking, sorry that his brother had passed. Being the selfish girl she was, she thought about John. How would she react if he was dead? How would he react if she was. She didn't like the thought of either one of them no longer existing. But still Hadley wondered why Zeke couldn't look at her. Was it because she had brought up this topic? Was it because she had done something wrong? "Zeke I, I don't know what to say. Im so sorry." Her voice became quieter with every word. She took a hand and pulled her long blonde hair over to one side and leaned her head on Ezekiel's shoulder. She wanted to tell him that it was okay. But she didn't know if it was or if it wasn't.

139812 Hadley kept steady eyes on Zeke's tattoo. It was magnificent, now that she could decipher what it was. Flames. How interesting? She saw its complexity, and how intricate it was. She didn't like looking at Zeke's body, but the tattoo was a masterpiece. Hearing a change in Zeke's voice, she looked to his face. It was bursting with hidden emotion. He looked as if he was pained to look back at Hadley. But why? She decided it was okay to ask questions. "I want to meet him, if we get out. Your brother, that is. Aiden is a very nice name." and it was, the more she thought about it, the more she meant it. Aiden was a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning. Hadley had no idea what her name meant. "I love it, its phenomenal." She said, in reply to his question.

139812 Hadley repeatedly brought her cupped hands to her mouth with more and more water. She had stopped savoring it and was harshly swallowing as much as she could. She knew that she should stop or she would make herself sick. Leaning up, she saw Zeke sitting and patting the bricks next to him. She sat, feeling the water inside of her settle. It was a strange feeling. She brushed her wrist over her mouth wiping off the water that had dribbled from her mouth. After a couple moments of silence, she refocussed her eyes after realizing she had been staring and spoke. "What is your tattoo of? What does it mean?" She asked quietly, her voice still a bit hoarse.

139812 (( Yeah! So tragic! Haha ))
Hadley was almost startled when Zeke knelt down to her. Her eyes were wide, and he was looking directly into them. His were as blue as sapphires, a bright dancing blue. She hadn't noticed them before, and she felt ashamed that she hadn't payed enough attention to a detail such as that before. They looked like they were studying her's, and Hadley wondered what her eyes were looking like. When he mentioned water, she had almost forgot. She nearly collapsed down to the ground, and cupped her hands into the clear water, bringing it to her mouth. It broke into her lips and into every crevice of her mouth. She savored its freshness before swallowing. She had been starved of hydration for so long, it felt like a rainstorm after a drought.
(( another question, is this still the first technical day of the arena? when does it turn night? ))

139812 Hadley stood terrorized by the throwing of threats between the two groups. She made eye contact with the two girls, one after the other. She wanted to look away, but couldn't seem to be able to. She wanted to tell Caritta to stop, every threat only put them in more danger. Threatening them would only lead to death, and Hadley had seen enough death. Knowing that she should remain silent, she spoke nothing of what she was thinking, until Zeke did for her. Thank God someone had their head screwed on right. At the mention of two other tributes, Hadley shuttered. She hadn't thought about Dom or Oceana, and wondered where they were. The strangest thought popped into her head, she wondered if they were alright. She shouldn't care, but why did she? She shook the thought away and payed attention to the situation.

139812 Hadley felt a narrow wave of relief fly over her when Zeke returned to her, flooding her with apologies. She wanted to tell him that it was okay, that she was afraid, but all she could do was stare at him crying and heaving. Cutting him off, she went forward and wrapped her arms around him closing her eyes tight. She didn't want to let go and she didn't want to open her eyes. She tried to speak but no words came out. She opened her eyes, seeing two unfamiliar tributes standing with them. Paralyzed with fear, she watched them embrace. She thought that they weren't cold-hearted killers, but perhaps they were friendly folk. She became wary of them again when one of the girls demanded to know who they were. Hadley broke away from Ezekiel, hiding behind him, one eye peeking out to observe the scene.

139812 Hadley had no time to react. Caritta took her arm, and she was unsure what she was going to do. The water current proved too much for her, and she was being pushed back when Caritta swept her off of her feet and carried her. Hadley just wanted to drink the water, and wondered why they were running and not drinking. Before she knew it, Caritta spun her around to be on her back, and and Hadley grasped Caritta's shoulders as tight as she could when Caritta fired an arrow at another tribute. Hadley winced wanting to get down and run away from Caritta. She could hear the uncultured screams of a girl clutching a window. She held an axe, and was swinging it viciously at Zeke. Why was he over there? Why was he not with Hadley where they were together? She sent out a cracked and barely audible cry for him. "Zeke!" She wanted to cry but knew that it was to no use. She was thrown onto bricks covered in water. Caritta left her, instructing her to stay there. She screamed, with little sound escaping. She sobbed, her frail body trembling. She had had enough. She looked to the sky, wanting to be home now more than ever. "What do I do? I don't know what to do!" Hadley choked. Her voice was so hoarse. She held her elbows with her opposite hands, absolutely terrified.

139812 Hadley pressed her head against the rough cement wall of the small building. Thirst pinched in her throat. She closed her eyes in exhaustion, wanting to go home. The more she thought about it, the more she wanted to be there. She listened intently to Ezekiel's words, which were beginning to sound more hostile than calming. She wondered what was irritating him and hoped it wasn't her. When he mentioned his little brother, Hadley wanted to know more. She could have sworn she'd heard him talk about his brother before, but could't pinpoint where or when. Perhaps in the training center? She couldn't seem to recall. She wanted to tell him who she heard, But was confused. Did Zeke not hear the same screams that she had? How was that possible? She opened her eyes, wanting to interrupt. She knew it was rude, and she was taught never to intervene, but she needed to know. "Zeke," her weak words were cracked and hollow, "What do you mean? Did we not hear the same voices?" She said, pausing for him to reply. It was perplexing, how could it be? They all three heard different cries. She pushed her brows together in thought. Did Zeke not hear John? Who did Caritta hear? She wanted her questions answered, sooner rather than later. However, she felt terribly selfish for taking Ezekiel's attention from Caritta, who obviously needed help more than Hadley.

139812 Hadley shut her eyes and let Ezekiel squeeze her tightly. She decided to listen to him, he said it would be okay. That everything would be okay. She liked that. When he suggested they help Caritta, she agreed, but wanted to sleep more than anything. She wanted water too. She hadn't had a drink in the scorching sun all day. Her throat was dry and swallowed frequently in an attempt to fix it. She wiped sweat from her forehead and watched Zeke try to coax Caritta back to reality. Hadley sat down against a wall, since she knew she couldn't help Caritta.

139812 Hadley trudged behind Zeke, who looked somewhat heroic carrying Caritta nobly. She jumped when he abruptly kicked out the door but continued to follow him in. He sat Caritta down and quite to her surprise, he turned away from her towards Hadley. She handed back the knife, relieved she didn't have to carry it anymore. She was starved of water and dehydrated, but she hadn't been happier to hug Ezekiel and did so without stopping to think about his bare torso. She was exhausted and afraid, and was not about to deny a hug. She wrapped her arms around him, thinking of both him and John. His screams her embedded into her memory, and as she stood in embrace, she imagined hugging John as well. Still clutching Zeke, her voice broke out of her mouth, cracked and hollow, "Is it going to be okay?" she asked. She wanted an honest answer.

139812 Hadley started to cry, as Caritta wasn't getting up, as if she couldn't hear Hadley's words. She looked up, so see Zeke sprinting toward them, Dom not following. John's screams of pain were never ending, piercing Hadley's ears. She looked up to Zeke, and flinched as she took his knife. She felt tempted to thrust int into her own body, just so the screams would stop. Hadley listened to Zeke's words, that they weren't really in pain, that the screams weren't real, but Hadley found it difficult to understand how that could be true. Ezekiel pulled Caritta off of the ground and Hadley staggered after them, choking on her own tears, deprived of water. She thought of falling to the ground to die, of giving up, when the screams stopped. She stood still, truly drained. Her tears dried on her face, and continued again after Zeke and Caritta to a building for safe cover.

139812 In all of the confusion and intensity, Hadley had stopped breathing. A new, much larger tribute than she, was now pinning Zeke by his hair. Everything was moving in slow motion yet flying by her. Hadley froze in pure fear that it became the air that sat around her. She hadn't had any water, and now seemed as if she would never get any. But she had no time to think, as no thoughts even entered her vacant mind. A hand pulled her behind a body, and out of habit, she reached forward, eyes wide and panicky, she clutched Caritta's swimsuit. She stared at Ezekiel's face, he wasn't panicking. He was acting, and she needed to. His pleads to run filled her ears, and with great reluctance of leaving Zeke, she did. Her feet hit the stone hard ground lightly and quickly. She looked behind, breathing hard, seeing Caritta draw her bow and Zeke struggle away from—was that, Dom? The tattooed foe from the training center? If he was here, Oceana couldn't be far behind. Adrenaline keeping her alert and fast, she was aware of everything. The heat, Dom, the possibility of other tributes, the loss of water, and the fact that John was screaming out to her, sounding as if he were in pain. Alarmed, she stopped her rapid and hasty gait, to slide her feet and to collapse. Throwing her head up she saw Caritta sitting emotionless on the ground. She whipped her eyes around the arena looking for any sign of her older brother. Nothing. Tears burned in her eyes, screaming out for Zeke. "Zeke! What's happening Zeke! Can you hear it Zeke?!" Her words agonizing to say as they choked her. She thrust herself up, running sloppily towards Caritta urging her up. Dom was still on the move, and Caritta had to time. "Come on Caritta! Please!" She screeched, her voice sounding as if she were being strangled. John's cries for help murdered her insides, and she thought, This is the end, isn't it?
