ππ» I probably can't start Rogue Protocol until Friday since I need to read my book club book today and tomorrow. π
I would say #2 if we can, since that's a book I don't need to find. If we do a buddy read for #4 too, that's just bonus then. I think the next Murderbot is E, so that's a thing... Are we all on the same Snowball team, or are we gonna be throwing some of our points at each other? ;)
I have a C book left; it's not Christmas but that's okay since it needs to happen sometime lol. We could do Rogue Protocol for R, but that might also be a good buddy read for one of the other options?Yeah, I have to find U and Z books as well, but those are always pulling teeth for me. I never seem to enjoy them that much, so short so they're over quickly is good lol.
A or T on Choose a Letter since those are articles and would give max flexibility? No clue yet what I'm reading for any of these... Maybe my last Halloween book (yes, it's still not read) will work for something but no idea.
I'm also fine with whatever. I'd noted when I signed up for 2026 that I was on this team, but wasn't sure how many wanted to stay together. If the team disbands and we all get placed somewhere that better suits, that is completely fine. :)
I understand where Claire is coming from with it not really feeling like a team challenge. I'm likely guilty of a lot of that attitude because it's hard finding common books to read among a bunch of people. I was focusing on personal goals this year, and tbh it will hopefully be more restrictive next year as I really need to solve some shelf problems. So if we need to split the team in order for everyone to get what works for them, that's fine. This isn't a situation where feelings get hurt; it's just facts, and this is the moment to seize what we need as it is an open transition period. When I was added to the team, the vibe was chill and mostly isolationist, so I rolled with it since I didn't want to rock the boat lol. πI also understand the nudge towards maybe being a noncompetitive team, since there wasn't really a team cohesiveness. While I personally would rather be competitive even if we don't do well, because we'd have a chance to do well, it doesn't bother me either way. I can be quite competitive; I try not to be. That said, it is unlikely I would always find a book to fit every prompt, fit within genre/diversity/whatever, which of course leaves points unearned. I'm also a mood reader, so choosing a group read can be rough since we all read differently, and then I also have various levels of priority reads. π€·πΌββοΈ The flexibility and chill atmosphere worked for me this year; I would probably look for something similar next year just so I'm not holding a team back who wants to try for top spot because I don't know that I can commit to that much.
I just finished my last book, so we're done. But Char, I noticed you didn't note how your Distortion book fits. So not sure if I should submit...? :/

I got the 12th and 13th books finished, so just gonna post all of them so they aren't sitting in my notes anymore. :) No rush though, you go as you need, Jayme! :)
I use the notes app on my phone, since that's what I use for GR.Wow, I honestly had never checked the rankings lol. From last to 4th: that's impressive!! I think it's because y'all rock at getting books done. I got distracted with having to start my Advent book, I had to throw in a Western really quick, and I still have to read my book club book for Thursday night. If I use an alternate cover, the Western works for eye on the cover. π Otherwise, gonna have to wait for Thursday since book club works for watching. Who knew...
Yeah, I was homeschooled so I get that. My mom owned her own business, so she could work part time from home so she could keep me on task. I learned how to focus, but that's not something innate, and technology wasn't as prevalent. The computer was in one room, the TV was off, and the phone hung on the wall with a cord. π
I didn't stick close to genre either; most of them were outside my comfort zone or not my mood lol. Maybe next year will be better but I wouldn't count on it.
Oof, hopefully the transportation wasn't too bad. π We got three or four inches today it looks like. Roads are kinda bad, but not terrible. But I'm glad I don't have to go out tomorrow.
I wouldn't mind doing this again next year. I have no idea where the year went either. I bought Heart For Christmas because it's an Advent calendar book where you read a chapter a day and I have six minutes before it's Day Two lol.
