I normally read every night so that's my plan for today since I slept in! I don't want to push it and burn out on reading or go into a slump. It's all for fun and enjoyment after all!

I'm also a night owl, I blame a few nights with not great sleep this week for fading early. And I have the same issues with taking a while to recover from pushing myself that hard.

I sleep more and more during the readathon as my mystery chronic illness seems to eb and flow so I've just embraced trying to go with my normal sleep schedule. Which is usually 2-3 am till 9-11 am.

I was enjoying my good sleep on my new mattress this morning too much to get up until almost noon today! Oops!

My brain just can't power nap for some reason. I wake up groggier than when I went to sleep! I hope you were able to make it through!
Apr 13, 2024 10:43PM

133888 So, let's talk about sleep! Do you plan sleep time into your readathon and start early or read later? Or are you up the whole 24-hrs? If you're up the whole time how to you do it? And does it affect you for days after?

I'm about to go to sleep. I planned to stay up later but I'm too sleepy. I always sleep for part of the official time but then either start my reading the night before or read more on Sunday. This time I decided to read more on Sunday so I get a full 24-hrs of time to read.

So to all a goodnight! And I'll be updating my thread until tomorrow afternoon, but I won't be reading anymore during the official readathon. See you here tomorrow!

133888 A bit late but

Half-Point Progress Report

1. How many books have you been reading? Have you finished any? Are you on track with respect to your readathon goals so far?
Now I've finished 2! Why We Die The New Science of Aging and the Quest for Immortality by Venki Ramakrishnan & Royal Scandal (Royal Blood, #2) by Aimee Carter
2. Have you eaten real food today? (Not just junk food, ACTUAL HEALTHY FOOD) What was your favorite food or beverage so far? Yes! We had wraps from HungryRoot, though the apple fitter from this morning was my fav
3. Have you been participating in any of the activities on our social media (sprints, photo challenges, discussion questions, BINGO, etc.) Does posting discussions count? And then replying to people? I haven't been feeling this readathon as much due to my depression.
4. Are you growing sleepy? Do you plan to nap, or stop early, or are you extending the readathon hours to include sleep? No to the getting sleepy. I got up at my normal 9am CDT, and I plan to sleep tonight and then read until at least 1pm tomorrow
5. Have you been outside yet today? Have you had much exercise (besides the heavy lifting required to hold your book)? Yes, to take Jedi potty and go to the laundry room. As for exercise just lugging the laundry back and forth to the laundry room and taking the trash to the dumpster.
6. How is your readathon going, overall? Meh, I got some good reading time in!
