133080 I still want to know why Veronica decided not to go the FBI route (other than the movie logistics). Like what happened that summer that moved her in a different direction.

Hannah wrote: "Neptune Rising wrote: "Ch 29, page 250. LoVe the mention of Veronica's FBI internship!"

I was starting to wonder if it hadn't happened for some reason. I was really glad they mentioned it too."

But it also made me appreciate Logan and how much he had matured so much.

I'm glad it wasn't too, because it was just too eerily similar..."

I found myself totally riveted to the book as Veronica approached the ice maker. I felt like the comparison helped to up the emotional ante on the scene.

More like, complete echo of the time when Van Clemmons has her organize the student files so she gets to "accidentally" see her mother's permanent record.

I hadn't thought of that. Good catch!

It might also be interesting to read other mystery books as well. Maybe do compare and contrast discussions.

While I have a preference, it's not a big deal to me because it still is a lot easier to follow than twitter because 1) they number comments and 2)comments are added to the end instead of everything being pushed down from the top 3)When you refresh the page, it puts you at the last comment you read.

133080 Neptune wrote: "Does anyone think it would run smoother on Good Reads if the moderator posted the enter 7 chapters under one topic? Or do you like it split up by chapter?"

I'm probably one of the few people who liked the chapter discussions split up. I found it easier to follow the discussion without distractions until I was ready to move on.

This can actually be changed in personal settings.
1. Go to Edit Profile
2. Go to emails
3. Scroll down to "Group email preferences"
4. Beside "Veronica Mars Book Club" you select the frequency you get emails.
5a. If you are following any specific discussions, right underneath you will see a message that says "You are following X# group discussions" Click on the link there.
5b. You will see all the specific discussions you are following, if you don't want emails, set email preference to "None"

133080 I really like having it on goodreads. I think it's a lot easier to follow conversations because we don't have conversations splintering off as people reply to on part of a tweet conversation compared to another. I also think it makes it easier for people to come back later and add to it (in case they can't make it). I also like how we aren't limited by characters. It was hard to condense some of my thoughts into 140 char. or less.

I know that there were some technical problems with the App on mobile devices, however some of us figured out how to work around them (use chrome or safari browser, and if you are on a phone go to the menu and click on revert to desktop mode). So I think the technical barriers can be overcome.

133080 I think for me the moment I knew we weren't going to see Hayley again was when we saw the hotel. Was too much like Amelia Longpre

It's interesting to think about how different this case would roll out had Veronica called Lianne just to ask for Lee Jackson's phone number.

It seemed like a much more plausible story considering what we know of William Murphy than him being the G - Cousins' hitman.

133080 I really like how Cliff (like Logan) know how to kind of play Veronica so they can get something out of Veronica's favor requests. I thought it was very well played how he had her do the filing. Very smooth Cliff, very smooth.

Excellent point. Is she trying to convince herself it can't be changed because it seems like Lianne doesn't want any kind of relationship with her?

Quite possibly. Like she knows those walls are being chipped down and she's trying to put strengthen them again.

133080 Veronica says "I made my choice a long time ago and so did she."

I think it's very curious that she talks about this as a very black and white decision which cannot change. Didn't she just make an abrupt change, drop a career, and move back to the place she said she would never return to?
