And she knew it wasn't fair - she barely knew Tanner- but she couldn't figure out how Tanner had..."Maybe it's the same reason why Logan makes more sense with Veronica than Piz does. Piz just doesn't get the dark side of Veronica like Logan does.
Neptune wrote: "Good point! Did Lianne and Tanner just do a really good job of shielding Hunter from their short comings? Or is he all just taking it in, and his personality will be deeply effected later?Susan wrote: "Did anyone think that Hunter seemed too sweet? I know he's a little kid, but he's got two bad parents and a messed up sister."
Is Lianne really a bad mother to Hunter? From what we've seen, Lianne seems like a very different mother to Hunter than she was to Veronica. Much more of a traditional mother. We know she was a bad mother to Veronica, but it does seem like she has tried to change.
Christy wrote: "Neptune wrote: "Discussion Question: "Here Lianne was, with someone new. And she knew it wasn't fair - she barely knew Tanner- but she couldn't figure out how Tanner had kept her mother when Keith..."I kind of get it. Lianne probably in the back of her mind didn't think she deserved to have people so good like Veronica and Keith in her life after she hurt them. Probably easier just starting from scratch.
I thought this chapter was interesting because we get to hear specific examples of how pervasive Lianne's drinking was when Veronica was younger. Sometimes the show made it seem that the drinking was a product of the stress of the Lily Kane case.

This whole chain of events was hard to read. I felt bad for V and so proud of her at the same time, tho!"
I definitely felt proud of Veronica in this moment and I think showed a lot of growth for her in some ways.
Yeah, I found it super sketch and was super surprised that Veronica didn't seem more disturbed/suspicious about it.Neptune wrote: "Plot Point: Tanner is relaxing in the hot tub. Really? When his daughter is missing?
really?
REALLY?????"
Heather wrote: "I agree that the whole expert thing seemed shady & off. Why would you want extra people to possibly screw things up?"This seemed way more suspicious than requesting a ransom specialist in the first place
Did this chapter remind anyone else of the scene where Logan went to the shooting range with the Dick Casablancas's?
I like how Weevil, in many ways, has always been able to see more of the big picture compared to Veronica. He really does talk logical a lot of the time.
I was proud of Veronica for accepting that her dad was right about her needing to "pay a price" for accepting this way of life.
*Side note Could you please make a comment when we are going onto the next chapter discussion? Thanks.
Hannah wrote: "Yeah he does in a way remind me of Aaron"I guess that makes Hayley "Trina". Kinda doesn't make it so surprising that she liked to go after bad guys.
Margarita wrote: "We'll yeah that's the reality of a kid who has two addicts for parents I guess"Both these family seemed really warped. It was so intense when Mr. Dewalt went after Crane. He started to remind me of Aaron Echolls.
I didn't think the suggestion to hire a specialist was suspicious, but I thought the amount of the ransom was a little suspicious. It felt too specific

I honestly don't think he would care...as long as he could get some tv time out of it!
"
Haha. So true.
Susan wrote: "It was awkward for me to be in the same room with Keith and Lianne, can only imagine how Veronica felt about it."All I could think about was how awkward it would be, just like if my divorced parents had to be in the same room together.
