This was a short chapter!

Logan announces he will be returning to the Truman.

"Because, for better or worse, that was the way they were both wired."

How do you feel about Logan's decision to leave? And Veronica's reaction?

Veronica gets a call back- but not from Madelyn Chase. Someone named Isabella calls instead wanting to fill in. Madelyn is no longer with the agency. Veronica reveals her intentions to find out what happened to Madelyn.

Isabella asks Veronica to meet her in Vegas.

At the book signing my sister asked Rob if Veronica would ever run for Sheriff. His answer was a big NO. He likes her on the unofficial side of law enforcement. So I guess we can cross that career path off her list.

Personally I would love Keith back in office.

Veronica is able to talk to Nikki Valentine. Nikki recognizes Bellamy as a client who tried to get rough with her. Bellamy was beat up when she called in her boyfriend. His experience with Nikki might have been what made him realize he might like choking girls.

What case would be complete without Veronica leaving a voicemail impersonation? Veronica pretends to request a booking with Madelyn Chase.

Think she ever forgets to change her voicemail greeting back afterwards? LOL

Veronica finally has proof that Bellamy is Mr. Kiss and Tell. She maps out his possible victims:

Grace Manning, Nikki Valentine, Bethany Rose, Tonya Vahn, Madelyn Chase

Keith gets in a good word with Lamb.

Dan Lamb pulls the "Don Lamb" card.

Mars INvestigation has lost a paying case because Veronica has been so caught up with the Manning case.

That's true. There must be some denial there. No one goes through everything that Logan has in the military just as a goof. He's even learning another language!

V has been texting with Leo about the Sheriff's race and Grace's case.

Veronica counsels with the Navy wives.
"She already knew that he's decided to leave- before he opened his mouth to speak. But for one last minute, she could pretend that he was hers to keep. For one last minute, she held him, and let him hold her."

"Her strategy for honoring the dead had always been to take action- solve the mystery, punish the criminal. But what did you do when there was no one to punish? When there were no answers to find? How did you assimilate that kind of loss without losing your mind?"

Veronica flies to Seattle for Bilbo's funeral.

"I stayed behind on a fools errand. Why did I think I could convince Lamb to do something even remotely helpful? Why didn't I just go with Logan? He needed me and, like always I chose the job. I chose wrong."
