128924 Tina, I'm on board and will help with the discussion if you need. Watch out for the hurricanes! We will be getting a bit of Harvey's remnants here in Pittsburgh tomorrow sometime, but not expected to be much of an issue.

128924 No problem here in the north. We are expecting the remnants of Harvey over the weekend, but that is all.

128924 Yes, it sounds very bad for Texas and the coast.
128924 I wonder is William and Mom will get together?
128924 I was right and wrong. I got the right murderer, but thought the mother would be in on it somehow. I guess she was just too interesting not to be involved!
128924 Are we doing spoilers here?

128924 I'm in! Already have the book!
Aug 17, 2017 05:10AM

128924 I found that reading a little at a time is too tough for me, and the three weeks I have the book from the library go by too quickly. So I'm ready to finish whenever you want!

128924 My four are:

1. Staircase
2. Red House
3. Any Campion (except Black Dudley, which I've commented on earlier--it is not much Campion)
4. Passenger to Frankfurt (it is really not very good, but I think that would lead to a very lively discussion!)
128924 Finished! I'll wait till the final thread is posted.

128924 I think my vote is for Circular Staircase, though any of the others Tina mentioned would be OK. I've read Carcase fairly recently, so I would be able to discuss that without a heavy re-read.

128924 I thought the same, Tina. Let's save the list for future months, then the choosing my be a little easier.
128924 I though about Mum as well, and now I find that Eric has an alibi after all. I'm now on chapter 22 and should be finished in the next day or two, depending on how busy I get.
128924 I am just out of this next section, and the body has indeed appeared! Too early to speculate just yet, but Eric seems too obvious. (Unless he turns out to have a "cast-iron" alibi.)
128924 Well, I'm not there yet (I'm about chapter 15), but I don't mind the spoiler. I'll be there soon enough. I'm just happy we finally have something, more than halfway through the book! (And I thought it would be the nanny as well!)

128924 I'm afraid I'm finding it a little too slow on the mystery. I'll continue to forge on, but I hope something happens soon.

128924 I've read Black Dudley--it is the first Albert Campion book, though he is not in it much and it is not typical Campion. I'd like to do an Allingham in the future, but perhaps something a little later in the series, when the Campion character has grown into something we are familiar with.
Aug 09, 2017 05:41AM

128924 I like the characters, but I agree with Tina, there is not much mystery yet. (I'm on chapter 11.)

128924 I vote for Circular. 1. I have the book. 2. I mean to read it. 3. This might help me move on #2.

128924 Whoa! Very cool!
