Aww .. well thankfully you had the chance to enjoy it .. its pretty good over here .. only the humidity and heat is a little suffocating .. went on a night safari and some local bazaars .. as well as a couples of malls.. Ok so today (yesterday?) we were to start reading siege and storm .. I was in a flight to Singapore to visit grams so I can't tell the time now lol .. I'm about to go to bed but I'll just use this as a chance to say if you haven't started you have time till I post the chapter threads .. Just like the rants we did the last time .. I'm looking forward to this guys .. I feel like it's the grisha sisterhood lol

Actually .. I think four is better than Tobias .. Mostly because the way he was portrayed in the first two books .. And the shift of his continuous self-doubt and so on in the 3rd book as Tobias .. Like he was the kid that was being abused again .. But the four we saw In the first movie .. The strong young man that was top of his class and fought a planted program for the girl he loves .. The one who calculatedly attacked his father to make a statement .. They boy who ran after the girl knowing death would take them both ... That is who I admired .. Up until the moment he said they should be honest with each other and went off to so his own thing .. Like come on .. And then one problem after another and arguments and just tornados kept storming him and the relationship and the entire book.. I feel if he had remained as strong as he was in the beginning .. At least stronger since he loved her .. So what if the test says he's not pure .. In they world they knew .. They were the same .. In a different world .. I would have loved him more if he could have been stronger to be proud if being together despite what others feel are major differences .. I don't know .. I love four .. But his Tobias side .. Never growing up and moving on was always an issue with me .. *sigh* still .. Theo theo theo .. I need one .. Like ..seriously

So .. have you guys seen divergent yet?

If not .. please come back to this later .. I just couldn't keep this in any longer and I don't know anyone aside from bookish ppl that will actually watch it..

It was pretty good .. with a twinge of painful sadness (YOU KNOW WHY) As expected .. shailene and theo were ok as well .. It was pretty funny some of the interactions they had with each other .. as with other characters ..


But .. I feel like any happiness will be momentarily values because of a known ending .. I couldn't help but pray a small prayer that they'd change it the way they are with finnick .. But non the less .. That scene when she was flying? I couldn't help but think of four (I don't like to say his name because it reminds me of how he pissed me off in the book lol .. YA .. Think how you hated juliet's narration XD) .. anyways .. couldn't help but think o him flying and then he'll see tris's reflection as if she were with him .. just a thought ..

now .. Two things that resonated with me .. the edward scene .. the butter knife? eye ball? I wasn't aware they didn't plan on including that either .. ok I heard uriah was later decided to be included but .. man .. I feel like they could have done a better job on character build up .. what's the name of that evil chick that used to beat tris up? I remember her existence but not the name .. and peter and al .. and will .. Like they barely mentioned it except for a couple of times .. and I know to pay attention because of the book .. how will those who don't read operate .. ??

Anyways .. the second thing was .. There was no cake TT~TT .. like come on .. that's like the MAHOGANY of DIVERGENT XD XD XD .. I think I would've laughed at that ..

Oh OH .. the moment when they were like "INITIATES!!! STAND!!" .. I stood up and pretending to fix my dress so that the ppl behind me wouldn't throw their popcorn at me XD

hmm .. caleb 3 .. .. Ansel Elgort <3 .. Gus Gus .. I'll just leave it at that ..

poor kate winslet XD .. but yeah she did good since i hated her all-knowing feel ..

Strangely though .. I kind of liked Eric's doucheiness .. really well represented. Props to Jai Courtny ..

Loved the soundtrack .. All in all .. it was a good start to the trilogy ..

Though I had a bad sort of time .. cuz I went alone and had this couple sit next to me and it was gross how they kept flirting and trying to guess what would happen and just annoying my during commercial times on what movies they have to see and what not .. I'm not even going to comment on when the 6+4 chemistry "steamed" up the place

it was undeniably good none the less

LOL .. no I've read them .. talk about cliff hangers huh .. it wasn't confusing .. It was like a mystery thriller with a fantasy twist .. I'm just turning this into book discussions XD

well she dumped him in the second book .. that's when you see a glimpse of how she's starting to grew up a bit .. but the third book was a surprise honestly .. anywho ..

Warner was sort of the reason why I kept going .. but still i was agitated with the 3rd book .. so many more things needed explanation .. but still I had fun lol ..

lol awesome .. gives me time to buy it and stuff <3 ..

About shatter me .. I liked a lot of paragraphs .. and sometimes you'd be confused and exasperated with how things turn out .. it's not really awesome when it comes to action and stuff like that .. but for me I really really really loved the characters .. seriously .. check out booktuber reviews .. I loved the series .. maybe it's not epic to everyone .. but I loved it .. maybe you will too :)

I tell you .. the way it's written .. you don't know if the darkling is bad for real or if there's a plot twist to the plot twist XD ..

Mal or darkling?? I don't really know .. I feel like more development is needed on that topic ..

At first I was like just because she grew up with mal and had feelings for him doesn't mean she'll end up with him .. he was a jerk .. and it took him losing her to realize it .. maybe i'm biased since i'm kinda cynical when it comes to these stuff .. but later with the darkling's "pretend" .. she'd had to have developed another pull to him .. a fact that i admire how mal was like I love even the part of you that loves him .. so bonus points for that tracker boy ..

now .. since i'm a moron .. and have a think for bad boys .. I think i'm gonna trust the damned darkling still .. a lot can happen in the next 2 books .. you never know ..

Ok so I've brought this up before .. but with shatter me I had this gut ..
and i'm not sure if you guys finished it or read it to begin with so I don't want to spoil you (YOU'VE BEEN WARNED)

Warner .. if you haven't read the book you .. was this guy in the first book that played the spoiled bad boy monster who wanted to use the heroine Juliet for his presumably bad purposes ..

I don't know why but I kind of liked him from the first book .. and followed my gut all the way ..

The thing is with the shatter me series .. is that it has beautiful character bonds and development .. you kind of don't see it coming .. It's told from Juliet's perspective and throughout the three books you can see how different she comes to be ..

Lol i feel like this is a review within a review . but the point is ..

I usually stick to my guts until something MAJOR makes me change my mind .. let me think .. something as cool as Snape being a loyal person through and through .. though probably not as nearly as handsome as the darkling in my head *i'm still missing a face though lol .. just the smirk from the video* (hide spoiler)]

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this experience with me ..

I've never done anything that involved reading a book I liked and wanted to read with someone else .. sure i've done group reading in classes but it's not the same ..

And though i feel like i've hogged most of the talking .. I really did enjoy this and would love to do it again sometime with you guys .. (I know i will with YA this month though lol)..

So yeah .. thanks you guys .. and no i'm not saying goodbye or anything i'll still annoy you from time to time ..

just figured i'd use my fresh feels in something .. umm .. emotional?? lol

I don't know .. I don't know .. I don't know ..

I don't even know what I know anymore .. I'm not sure what I'm confused about .. Is it cuz I loved the darkling more than mal?? I made impressions .. not that I took sides .. but my damned gut .. it tells me that it's going to be an Alina/Darkling (when am I getting a human name for him????????????) sort of thing ..

But the escape twist .. that was a good one .. Like you'd think when she spared the stag just so the shadow ma.. aaaiiii I mean the darkling would slay it .. (and the david installing process) ..

OK I'm rambling now .. anyways .. how she realizes she really owns the power .. *I'VE GOT THE POWER*

I feel like I get it now when everyone said the second book was much much better than the first .. the way things ended .. it's like an ending of a story? but not really .. you know it's only the beginning ..

I couldn't help but be bothered by the "After" chapter .. the kept referring to them as the boy and the girl .. ok it's nice that it was somewhat consistent just as the "Before" .. .. but you'd think they'd be man and woman now? or is that an indication that they haven't seen anything yet .. that the orphans were still the same when we know they're not ..


I also read mal's bonus love letter .. it was ok .. didn't move me much or anything though .. and i've refrained from reading the extra 1st chapter of siege and storm .. let's save it for our next read-along this 27th-28th ..

Check out the author's interview .. she said she'd introduce her fav character in the next book .. if it's not a new one .. dare I hope it's ALEXEI ????? <3 0,0

You are expected to PLEASE share your thoughts ladies.. seriously .. I feel more involved with the book .. i've never done this before but I think I'm actually getting into the whole writing this down <3

Here's my take -at least the obvious parts of it- on these chapters

ok .. so let's start with "Malina" .. I think this part really strengthened their relationship and clearly refuted the earlier assumption on mal being the sort of best friend one would think they're in love with cuz they had no one else.. Though I have to admit .. when they were kissing I remembered her comment about her being kissed before … that even her smooches with the darkling weren't her first .. I was really surprised .. not in a bad way .. just didn't expect it ..

No offense to mal .. but sometimes I catch myself thinking about the power difference between him and alina .. sort of like how one would wonder why beautiful genya would pair up with nerdy no-so-interested david .. It just worries me that they'll reach a point where mal would be some sort of sacrifice for alina to tone it down after her power boost ..

Speaking of which .. GIRL!!! and then the DARKLING!!!! .. and WITH THE STAG!!!! .. oh I don't know .. IT'S SO CONFUSING!!!! ..

I really didn't want the darkling to be the "evil" in this story .. I still sort of have my doubts that he's not .. but DUDE!!! TMI (as in Too Much Info not the mortal inturments).. was is jealousy that made him sell her out on almost doing it?? I think Bardugo did an outstanding job to be honest.. anything could be twisted and interpreted at this point to fit the grand story..

and later when they catch them TT~TT .. and genya T~T .. oh lord oh god oh wow .. I left out a lot ..
