I'm volunteering at a kids STEM day camp this week and I swear. They. Will. KILL. Me. I start off this morning and within an hour of being there, some girl says she has to throw up and because I have first aid training, I was put in charge. So fuck me I guess. I take her to the bathroom, and go find the director, who puts her in a different room and tells me to sit with her, come find him if she throws up. So, I sit with her, have her drink water, talk with her. Everything I need to do. A HALF HOUR LATER, mr. Director comes back and asks if she wants to go home, she says yes, he says wait 15 minutes, then come find him at the front desk. When he leaves, I ask if shes hungry, she says no. 15 minutes pass, we go to the front desk and sit for 15 MORE MINUTES until he comes back. He calls her dad, she forgot her lunchbox and water bottle so i have to run around the school and find them for her. Finally, I'm done, I wash my hands and go back to the room. The rest of the day, I keep telling kids to pay attention, and keep their hands off of eachother, stop talking, the works. It's constant. Then at the end of the day in home base, the kids gang up and start beating up one of the other volunteers and they're screaming, now, they're 6-7yo so, according to the other volunteer, it doesn't hurt. But my ears could not. I yell, they shut up. TODAY WAS THE WORST DAY YET! AND THE GIRL WAS FAKING IT! ONE OF THE FRIENDS OF A DIFFERENT VOLUNTEER WORKS WITH THE DAD AND SAID SHE WAS FAKING IT!
