Yeah same 😭

I LOVE THOSE, Sledgehammer is really good

I saw someone mention this somewhere on Goodreads a while ago, but I feel like it isn't talked about enough. The stigma around being cishet (cisgender and heterosexual) from the LGBTQ+ community.
This is coming from the perspective of someone within the community, seeing both sides (or trying my best to). I hope I don't offend anyone in the process, but I'd love to hear your feedback.
A lot of queer people treat being straight or cisgender as if it's bad, it's a taboo, and as if all cishet people are homophobic (or against LGBTQ+). I've heard a ton of queer people say stuff like "ew a straight couple lol" or "I'm so glad I'm not cishet, how boring/gross/etc" or "all cishet people are so homophobic". Stuff like that. (I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, this is just stuff that I've heard said). Many queer people (definitely not all!) seem to think that being cishet automatically makes people homophobic/anti-LGBTQ+, "gross", bad, etc. And I think that mindset is just as bad as homophobia (though cishet people are much less likely to experience hate crimes and violence than queer people, I'll elaborate on that later).
I think this mindset/idea stems from the hate and violence the LGBTQ+ community has experienced from cisgender and heterosexual people. But certainly not all cishet people are like that. I don't believe these experiences give us the right to treat straight people as if they are all bad, because our entire movement is about acceptance and equality.
Yes, the LGBTQ+ community has been oppressed because of our gender and sexual orientation. Most cishet people have not. But that doesn't make them bad. That means we've had different experiences and we should be accepting of everyone. The people that have oppressed the LGBTQ+ community, committed hate crimes and acts of violence toward us, and are against our very existence ARE real, but they don't make up the whole population of cishet people. We need to realize that.
Stop making stigma around cishet people and straight couples. Accept everyone.
Thanks for reading, I'd love to hear everyone's feedback.
(NOTE: I was using the terms "cishet" and "straight" back and forth as just a simplified way of saying "people outside the LGBTQ+ community". I am aware that you can be queer and be cisgender and/or heterosexual (if you're on the aroace spectrum), and I hope I didn't make anyone feel uncomfortable with that. Let me know if I made any other mistakes with my wording and use of terms.)

How about 'do you like skz?' 😌

Heyy thanks for joining!!

Cool!! What color did you dye it?

Associate the shape of the state with a letter in the state's name. For example, Nevada is "V" shaped, like the third letter in the word. Idaho is shaped like a backward "d" like the second letter. And so on. Not all the states have shapes matching letters but I hope this helps a bit!

If anyone does want to be a mod (helping me add new topics and organize), let me know as well.
