this is my first fanfic, so expect it to be not great.

Ocean is in the approval topic, and here's the backstory!

The first thing I remember is breaking out of my egg. It was night, and the moons were all full and glowing. I hatched on the shores of Pantala near Jewel Hive. Immediately, I saw Mom and Dad trying and comically failing to hide in the bushes nearby. I went over to them, and only fell over twice on the way. They looked startled. I jumped when I realized that I was thinking in dragon. A language I had not yet heard at that point. I then kept walking, and snuggled against Mom. I felt them touching my wings. Then I fell asleep. When I woke up, we were inside, and they were whispering in the far corner. I couldn't make out all of what they were saying, but I heard some. “-four wings…violet…swear she was thinking in dragon–” Dad was saying. Mom said “Shh. she’s waking up.” Mom came over to where I was sleeping.”Hello, little Ocean.” “Awk?” Is what I said. Mom picked me up, and I fell asleep. Again. Evidently, they got Grampa Turtle to lock those memories away. They just recently came back after Moonwatcher read my mind after noticing a patch of my mind that felt like Skyfire. When she focused on it, she managed to shatter the barrier, and the memories came flooding back. I’m not too surprised that she managed to break the spell, given that she is by far the strongest mindreader and telepath ever to walk the planet. She has even managed to awaken telepathy in non-nightwings, somehow. Anyway, I was raised on one of the islands in between Pyrria and Pantala. I received an informal education from mom and dad, both of whom went to JMA and left with high degrees in numerous subjects. Once I was four, the minimum age to go to JMA, they sent me to JMA, where I was assigned to Sapphire Winglet. That was two years ago.
