Wow, Lady you are blowing through the books!

Sadly no, but we're thinking about taking a trip to Paris to see the finish of Tour de France in 2015, so I'll keep you apprised!

Book 1/50 -- Sister by Rosamund Lupton
-- LOVED IT!

If you want to post here for books in the challenge, here is a great format.
Book 1/50 -- Title
Book 4/120 -- Title
Etc. Then we can all see where you are. If you want to post more about what you're reading and tell us about it, feel free to use the What I've Read topic. :)

Tracey wrote: "I'm aiming for 150 , but will increase like I did in 2013 if I near target early!"I like that idea, Tracey! I think I'll do a mid-year check up on here if people want to adjust. You never know what will happen to make you do more or less and I think it's always good to change rather than panic and feed bad! :)

You guys do blow my mind! But whether you are trying to read 10 books or 1000, I just love that so many people are reading! The official Goodreads tracker has only been up for a short time and there are already 40,000ish people signed up! Last year there were almost half a million readers tracking their goals here! I LOVE THAT!!!!

I'm currently reading
as my first book of the year! It's amazing so far! It will be a good "first book" of 2014! Not a romance, but kind of a thriller/mystery. I'll post whether I like it when I'm done.

The Reading Challenges are now up here at Goodreads! Click your "Home" button and they will be along the right side so you can set your goal officially as well as here! :)

LOL Laura I'm doing the same thing. I started a new book yesterday and I'm reading sllllllooooowwwwly so it will be my first book to finish for the new year. It's good too so I'm just torturing myself.
Lynn wrote: "Okay - so I can count my audio books right? I commute over an hour a day and my books keep me sane. :) I'll say 50 books (with Audio) which also gives me reading time.
You guys amaze me."I'd totally count Audio books Lynn!

Welcome everyone! I'm excited to get to know each other better over the next year, though some of you are old friends (hi everyone!!). Still waiting for Goodreads to get their goal tracker up for 2014 but I'll post it in announcements when it comes up!

Wow, you guys are amazing! I love that there are such voracious readers out there! That makes us writers feel like we have a future. LOL
Demetra wrote: "next on my list to get is Vivian story sooo looking forward to it. cant wait YAY"Aw, thanks Demetra! :) I hope you'll enjoy it!!

So I'm Jess Michaels, the moderator for this group. I'm also a writer, I write erotic historical romance. My 41st book came out in November and if you click my name or picture, it should take you to my Goodreads author page if you're interested in my backlist or upcoming books.
As far as a reader, I've been woefully bad about reading the past few years. Writing so much takes a lot of time and I often find myself watching TV or movies rather than reading just to give my brain a break. I read 25 books in 2013 (according to Goodreads... well it will be 25 after today since my husband and I will finish a book we're reading together). A mix of romance, nonfiction, fiction, really anything. But I think I can do better and am adding Read to my to do list every day. :) Thanks for joining this group and I hope we have a really fun time this year sharing our reads!!

Okay, I'm not going to reply to each one, I'm too far behind. LOL
Sharon and Kymberlee, I think 100 books is a great goal. I like that you're including a new author each week (or new to you). That's the only way authors grow, is if readers give them a chance!
Michelle and Sjoukje, 125 is what about 2.5 a week? That's pretty impressive! I love that so many of you are so voracious!
Fabiola, I think you're smart to know that you have other stuff going on. That's why I'm limiting myself a little.
Sheila, that's so impressive to have read so much in a 4 month period! I have never done a challenge before, so it's exciting!
Millie, I like the idea of setting aside time each day. I've actually added it to my to do list for every day, so if I want to cross it off, I have to read. :)
Keri, you sound like me. Right now I read two or three books and then nothing, so I'm trying to settle into reading a little every day this year. We may need to join Binge Readers Anonymous together! LOL
Keep posting goals everyone and please share this group! The more the merrier!
Amy wrote: "My goal is to get at least one book read a week."One book a week buddies! :)
Becca wrote: "My goal for 2013 was 400 and I topped it so far by 138, which makes 538 read for 2013 so figure I need to make my 2014 goal 500 at least!"Holy cow!! You are a power reader! LOL That's an amazing goal! Definitely hope you'll check in as you read (and read some of my books, you could get through my whole list in a week LOL).
Deelylah wrote: "Jess - I'm going to cut back on my reading in 2014. I'll hit 65 books for 2013 (I know I'll finish what I'm reading). I'm going to cut back to about 40 this year, planning in more time for writing-..." That's great that you are prioritizing writing, Deelylah! Good luck!!
