I was thinking more that it took most of the book to reach a HEA for ODC. I almost passed on reading it when I saw how long that took.

I basically trust reviews of like minded readers for the most part.
keeping in mind personal character and subjective opinions.

Kimbelle I still consider myself a newbie at only being 'a few years old'
when I started I learned pretty quickly I had to read reviews to choose a book that wouldn't waste my time.
Since then I found my favorites - authors and tropes and which I could read for the storyline without high expectations of the writing.
And then fanfic, fuggedaboudit...!
I will say that I trust the lovely ladies here with their reviews and willingness to answer questions on if I might like it or not.

Shame, I purchased it also, hoping that as she was offering it professionally, it had been professionally cleaned up!

Finished Northanger Abbey. Why is it that I don't like the Catherine character? Is it merely that she is so young/immature?
I also didn't appreciate the few variations I read with her in it.

On the other hand I think I might be interested in reading more on Eleanor Tilney
