I felt the same way about your 217. If they had to have a HEA, there should have been way more transition into it. Learning to trust again would have been a more complex process than portrayed in that book.

I don't think they are penalized, they just don't get the 'full' amount., but according to algorithms and how many pages read.
There had been a post on another one of our threads and someone itemized how authors get compensated on KU. If I recall correctly it is according to pages read...?
