I read Duplicity of Power in August and really enjoyed it. It starts off as a quest but develops into a more complex story. Loved the characters, worldbuilding, and action. It was quite dark in places (especially at the end.)

Highly recommend to fans of fantasy.

You're welcome. It was a great read. I've already ordered Darkwitch. I was taking it slow so I could make it last, but then I noticed the deadline approaching so had to speed up a bit ;)

I struggle with LibraryThing, I had to look back to Kat's instructions to work out how to post the review, I find it very unintuitive for some reason.

Ah, that's interesting. I get quite a few unverified reviews, I think they must be readers who downloaded via KU. I like the giveaways too; they seems to generate lots of rating, review and read-through activity. I ran my first one in January, I wish I had found them earlier.

I think this group and the other review group are extremely helpful for getting reviews, and I'm really grateful to all the hard work that goes into running them. The main reason I like to get a handful of reviews from Booksprout, is because they will be the opinion of people who enjoy reading the genre I'm writing in. Once I have enough reviews to use the promo sites (10-20), I prefer to let the reviews trickle in from readers who have bought the book.

My Y.A. dark fantasy novel did OK on Voracious Readers Only - 7 reviews from 20. I think lots of the sites are genre specific, but I liked that I could do the 20 book giveaway for free to see if it worked.

Useful list Dagmar, thanks! I find Book Cave does well when selling books (I'll have to try the newsletter builder.) I like BookRaid too, although both times I've used it I've been charged for the maximum clicks, which might be accurate, but made me wonder if the price per click was a marketing ploy.
