Yeah, I knew of a few incidences when I was in Indiana that it happened, primarily in Northern Indiana. But it still happened. Where I lived it wasn't as common..but still...people should have some sense, even more sense than usual because the road conditions are unknown to them! bah. lol I am actually gonna try to make it into work today...the hard freeze warning lifts in 10 minutes

It's because they just dont know unless they have lived in an area where it was common...like...when I lived in Indiana, during winter, my trunk had a big thick blanket, and warm clothes, in the event I was stranded. Because, it is common there. And I would want to keep warm as long as I can in case I was there for a couple hours. Here, they just dont understand that you can die QUICKLY by leaving the car...

We aren't equipped for this kind of weather because it is a rarity. This has been the coldest winter in the past couple of years. And it'll be in the 60s all weekend. We don't have the machines for any of the ice. They closed most of the major bridges and roadways and some people are just stuck wherever they were. A relative of mine mentioned being stuck in a welcome center since Monday. We have been afraid to put the dishwasher on because the hot water might burst our pipes. Our pipes aren't as insulated or made for cold weather like up there.

To make matters worse, the idiots who think they CAN be out on the roads, are still going 60-80 miles an hour...on ice...and expecting to fare as well as they would on dry road in optimal driving conditions. People here are stupid. Plain and simple. There is no need to be out on the roads right now, none. And its above freezing right now, but in a couple of hours, the temperatures are going to plummet again and we will have a hard freeze and be put on another curfew. We have even been put on notice that in the event of an emergency, emergency responders MIGHT not be able to get to us. There is a lot of country area out here also. Their curfew last night started 3 hours before ours. So, really, people should just stay in their homes and ride it out. It's not the worst it could be. But its not safe outside either. And anyone with some sense should know that.

Poor thing :( Will he be able to take the month off?

I am home today...though I have worked and gotten quite a bit done..woo!
