Yay! I'm so glad! :D

I'm almost finished Surprised By Joy, so I'm hoping to get started on Out of the Silent Planet tonight.

I have to say, I relate a lot to C.S. Lewis. I've known it for years, but reading his autobiography has cemented it for me - I get the way this man thought. I wish I could have had a conversation with him! He's certainly going on my "people to track down in heaven" list. ;)

118012 I'm struggling so far, too, but only until tomorrow (I hope) - I'm preparing for a big craft sale tomorrow morning, but then I will be freeeeeeeee! Unless I get custom orders. Which would be awesome, but would also kind of suck.

118012 I have to admit, I've stalled with it myself - mostly because the library copy I have is really gross and I don't like carrying it around with me, but also because he spends a little too long on his "public school" days for my taste. It makes me downright angry to hear/read about what kids went/go through in boarding schools, and I'm angry enough at humanity right now without that invading my reading time as well. :P

I'll get back into it this weekend when I have more free time.

118012 Have you read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?

(Come on, it's question 42! I had to do it! :P)

118012 We're already way ahead of last month's tally! :D

118012 Welcome, Grace!

118012 I'm on chapter 4 of Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Life. So far, I love the way he describes joy as that moment of sudden, unexpected thrill that you try and try to recapture but can never force it to come. It has to just happen. I can relate to that.

It's a great read!

118012 Me, I recommend The Wombles to absolutely everybody of every age, but especially 8-ish-year-olds. Of course, hardly anybody listens... :P

118012 I'm ready to C.S. Lewis it up. :D

118012 Welcome, Kate and Dominic! Sounds like you both found the right place. :)

118012 I finished Dracula!!! Slightly after midnight, so I can't count the last few pages with my readathon page count, but that's okay. I'm still counting it as an October read. (My ONLY October read... *headdesk*)

My official readathon page count - 307, or thereabouts. Yay?
Nov 01, 2014 08:08AM

118012 I read 1 book in October. I swear I'll read way more in November!

118012 The official total for September is... 432!

Our year-to-date total is... 5769!

We only have 3 months of tallies to add to that number, so we'll have to make a major push here if we're going to make it to 10,000! But even if we don't, at least we made a valiant effort. :)
