I wonder if it's linked to one of the old translations for corduroy as corde du roi, French for 'cloth of the king.' (I knew all that $ at FIT would come in handy some day.)

There is some extra content that reveals some of this, or better yet, wait for THT.

He is fast becoming my favorite. He's like a fashionista mafioso. Perfectly turned out and utterly in control---or else!

Unfortunately, justice is by and large exactly as she describes it. It can't do much before the act, but it's fairly efficient at meting out punishment once the damage is done. And sometimes, not even then.

Interesting aside to that: At the USS North Carolina, they used to project a WWII movie on the side of the ship at night. It scared the bejesus out of me then and it was all I could think of while reading the scenes set on the battleship.

I bet he has a backup plan that includes Tower and Mayan, and he probably has Queenie on high alert, as well!

I've somehow managed to have every question on Twitter ignored, so I thought I'd ask you :) Is Brand visiting the docks for their intended purpose, or do we find he's there on a mission to pick up information while he relaxes at the bar(s)? He doesn't strike me as the brothel-going type, although it would avoid the possibility of emotional entanglements that might pull him away from Rune.

Not only does it make me appreciate Rune, but also the way it showcases KD's writing style. He builds his people one action at a time and always leaves me wanting one more little insight. It makes him so much fun to read.

We all agree that Add..."
Even if he did something awful, it must have been mind-control, right? RIGHT?

Quinn only sees forward, not back in time. Let's... let's just pretend we never considered it. We'll all feel better.

I think it's like reading a story without adjectives. The extra content adds so much richness and depth.

Suppose Rune does believe it was one of the attackers, therefore it can't be Addam. But...what if it is one and the same?

I suspect it's also one of the reason..."
I think Rune brushed against this when he said he was on his way to becoming just another spoiled scion when the attack changed his worldview. In some ways, I wonder if Adam learned this from his experience with Quinn, or if he is one of those wonderful people who are just born this way. Maybe he had a nursemaid who imparted that kind of energy. Or, (and I hope this is not the case), maybe it's all faked.

I would like to think of this as an example of "we are our best selves in the end." But really, I bet we find out why in the future.

I am really anxious to see if this is the case. I am definitely leaning to this interpretation.

That said, even though 20 years is objectively time enough to have “gotten over” trauma, Rune clearly h..."
Ah, the advantages of being a rich, handsome male scion... I bet that's entirely part of KD's intentions. I'm going to read again to see if that seems more obvious to me now.

That said, even though 20 years is objectively time enough to have “gotten over” trauma, Rune clearly hasn’t. He still can’..."
Agreed, but let me ask, do you think Addam knows that Rune is still in purgatory over it? That was what I questioned and why I gave him a pass for his continued full court press. Granted, it was mostly invitational, either verbal or 'hey, did you notice how hot I am?' show and tell. He seems a little ill-informed.

You might be very right and I am keeping my options open. My reasoning was the sadness in his words as if he were hiding something very sad and undeniable.

Yes, Hannah! I didn't want to speak it into reality, but that's exactly how I felt, too. Sort of, "I know it isn't Addam because I have already had that unfortunate experience." Poor baby.
