I hope you enjoy your 2024 as well Bill and I always love adding to someone's book shelves.

Let me know how your choices turn out Bonnie. Hopefully we can depend on GR readers.

Let me know when the buddy reads are happening Lea. I can't promise anything because much depends on when I can get the various reads from the library. I already have a bunch of them on my hold list. If the dates work out, I would love to buddy read. Also, thanks for the encouragement on The Stolen Heir I don't know what to expect from that one. I feel I need to read Light Bringer for completion, but I actually don't think I could recommend the last three red rising books. I haven't liked them as much as I did the first three. Morning Star is probably a good stopping place.

1176148 You might like it Bill. Good space SciFi with a suspense twist.

1176148 This list is made up of books that were either winners or nominees in the 2023 Goodreads Choice Awards. These are a few of the books nominated in 2023 that 1) appealed to me; 2) I had not already read and 3) were available from my library at the time I created this list. This format worked for me last year so I'm hoping it will again. My experience last year made me think I could trust the discerning tastes of Goodreads readers but just for fun I'm going to give each book a good old-fashioned thumbs up 👍 or thumbs down👎 to show whether I agreed with the crowd or not.

All the Sinners Bleed I'm such a fan of S.A. Cosby
The Book of Cold CasesSeriously spooky.
The Lies of Locke Lamora You think this one is lighthearted fantasy until wham!
Red Rising I know not everyone appreciated it but I loved the first one and the first trilogy. I am slowly working my way through the more recent books and I am really lukewarm about them but I can't seem to drop the series entirely.

Thanks Lea! The 150 books includes an unprecedented number of audiobooks for me. Until this year I just haven't given myself permission to listen more than I read. Life these last few years though has not given me a lot of time to sit still and read. I'm so glad that I discovered audiobooks before this season of life rolled around. Otherwise I would be going bonkers. I still love to sit in a comfy chair and read the day away and I love the feel of a real book in my hands. I think this experience has made me appreciate those luxuries even more. As for the 5 star reads I credit the tastes of my fellow Goodreads readers. The Goodreads Choice books and checking out the overall star ratings not to mention following GR friends like you always leads me to good books.

1176148 Nice list Lea! I've read 3,4,9,11,A1&A4. I enjoyed them all so hopefully you will too. I can't wait to see your reviews for the rest. Best of luck!

1176148 Great list Lillie! I have found that making my list from books that my library offers has led to success. Hopefully that will be your experience too.

1176148 A great list Alondra but a bloody one based on the four that I have read. I loved all four of them so in spite of the carnage I think you are going to have a great challenge.
1176148 Great challenges! So many great memoirs on that list. I'm going to be checking back in to see which ones I need to read.
1176148 75% is impressive! I admire your ability to pick out 100 books and stick to the list well enough to read 75% of them each year. I could never do that. You're a rockstar Lea!

1176148 I like your challenge Ioana, especially the one sci-fi a month challenge. I'm going to be watching what you read to see what I need to put on my TBR.

1176148 Great chanllenge Lillie. Fortunately, our libraries are moving into the digital age and making it easier and easier to read/listen borrowed books. I do miss bookstores though.
