It's a fun series, Bill. Funny and chock full of paranormal creatures. Hope you enjoy!

“Hecate arched her eyebrows. “I don’t limit access to books, Percy Jackson. I’m not a monster.”
― Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Wrath of the Triple Goddess: The Senior Year Adventures, Book 2
A batch of escapism books when I needed them. Nothing earth shattering but they served their purpose.
#150
Soul Taken Mercy Thompson and company solve a little more of the mystery surrounding Wulfe. 3 mindless entertainment at it's finest stars. Audiobook. Fiction-Urban Fantasy.
#151
Land of Wolves Walt solves a local mystery while recovering from his exploits in Mexico. 4 Basque sheepherder stars. Audiobook. Fiction-Mystery.
#152
The Appeal An epistolary mystery in email format. This probably would have been less tedious if I had not chosen audiobook format but once I got far enough in, I did have to see it through to figure out who the murderer was. It was in spite of my poor choices a nice who done it revolving around a local theater group. 3 drama, drama, drama stars. Audiobook. Fiction- Mystery.

Wrath of the Triple Goddess Percy, Anabeth and Grover make an unbeatable team. Even Percy's latest quest can't stop them. 4 I love Riordan's humor stars. Audiobook. Fiction-YA Fantasy.

Between the Sound and SeaAudiobook. Loving this one.
Of Human Bondageebook. I really haven't been reading much.
The StrangerPaperback. Ditto.

This is..."Hope you win Alondra! Even if you don't this would be worth checking out. Good old fasioned world building.

Thankfully I already have Blood Over Bright Haven on my TBR (I'm #73 on the waiting list at my library), and I've alr..."Both of those were winners Ioana. I can't stop thinking about either of them.
Lea wrote: "I want to read all of those books you just read. Glad to see you enjoyed them so much! :-)"Go for it Lea! They were all great.

Practically every story in You Like It Darker references another book or story. Sometimes more than one. Sometimes other authors. Sometimes his own. It's one of the things I loved about the book. If you're going to read everything referenced make sure you read Les Miserable and A Good Man Is Hard To Find by Flannery O'Connor.

For the record, I have never read Cujo and I still enjoyed
You Like It Darker, even the Cujo story.

Congrats on hitting the 150 mark Alissa!

I have read 3, 9, 11. and Alt4. I enjoyed them all. Hope you do too.

Nice list, Lea. You can't go wrong with GRC winners. I loved The Women. My new favorite Kristen Hannah. I hope you like it too. Happy Reading!

I've read some of these Alondra but there are so many more that you will convince me to add to my TBR. Happy Reading!

Great challenge, Lillie. I've read the first 3 on your list and the last two alternates. I enjoyed them all. Hope you do too. The only thing I don't like about your list is how many series you are going to make me start after I read your reviews :)
Bill wrote: "Excellent challenge Michelle. Personally I think that books get banned to limit understanding of anyone or any idea that is different. Reading raises questions, creates understanding, if not accept..."Thanks Bill! Glad to know you liked Telegraph Club. It is going to take me months to get it from my library so it's good to know it's going to be worth the wait. The more I look at banned books lists and the reasons for banning them the more I think that the people doing the banning don't actually read books or at least don't like reading. It doesn't seem like they read the books they want to ban. Glad your parents were open minded about books that seems to be the key to raising a reader.

Nice list Amalia! I have read 3, 7, and 9. I enjoyed them all. I hope you do to. Happy reading!
Alissa wrote: "I love this challenge SO MUCH!!!"I’m glad Alissa. You inspired it. Thank you!
Lea wrote: "Michelle, I agree with you. Like you, I do think certain books are not age appropriate, but the parents should decide. Like Anne, I was way above my grade level in reading, but I found I was expose..."Looking back I know I read some things that were not age appropriate but usually those aspects of the book went right over my head. I was interested in the story for some other reason and I didn’t dwell on the parts that I wasn’t ready for. I have had the strange experience of re-reading one of those books and thinking “Wow, I don’t remember that being in there at all.”
All great art is in part what the beholder makes it. I think books are the same. Yes, what is written is written but we also bring something of ourselves to the story. Our own intellect and experiences color our interpretation of the story. If you are determined that a certain book is dirty and needs to be hidden from the world that is probably all you are going to get out of that book but maybe some of that is you and your worldview not the book.
Ioana wrote: "I can't believe how many books are banned for one reason or another! Like some of you, my parents allowed me to read anything I wanted, age appropriate or not. They figured I's either abandon or as..."It is interesting how many of us who love to read grew up in an environment that encouraged reading and respected our choices. Seems like that might be a good model for teaching doesn’t it? Of course before our schools could use a model like that our society as a whole will have to value reading and its benefits.

Great list Bonnie. I loved All the Colors of the Dark, Briar Clib, and All Systems Red. Happy reading!

Your parents were smart. My parents had similar policies and I think I regulated myself more than they would have. Usually if it was inappropriate for my age, it either didn't appeal to me or made me uncomfortable enough to reject it on my own. By the same token, since they didn't judge my choices, when they recommended something to me I usually read it. Either way we could discuss it and they had a good idea of what I was thinking. I also never felt a need to hide books from them.

Great challenge Patricia. I’ll be checking back to add some new series to my wishlist.
