I didn’t realize I forgot to post when I finished reading. I think overall it was a cute read and I love the concept of the guys book club and thought their meetings were the best parts of the book. I know I’m in the minority but I didn’t love this book as a whole.
I loved that Thea had her own goals she wanted to work towards and that ultimately Gavin supported her and I liked that Gavin was working hard to fix their relationship.
I didn’t like that Thea was so against fixing her marriage. If he was trying and none of what was he doing was to harm her or her girls why was she so set against working to fix things? I know the idea is that she’s scared based on her past but then maybe try therapy?
Overall cute premise but definitely not my preferred trope.

If i can get the second Bromance book from the library I'm in but i didn't enjoy the first one enough to pay for the second. I already have Accidentally Amy so I'm definitely in for that one.

Yeah I can understand that. If you’re feeling unloved and ignored of course you don’t want to stay in that situation. I just get the feeling he’s a bit smarmy.

I agree that she seems ultra focused on her job and I think the nature of that keeps her from fully forming attachments. How would you be fully present in your own life if you’re constantly on the fringes of someone else’s life? That being said I will say that I disagree about Robby and think he’s a total douche canoe.
I love that Hannah and Jack smile and laugh around each other more and I really appreciate that as much as she likes him as an actor she’s genuinely looking to see him for him; in fact that’s what she wants most. I also absolutely adore his mom.

Love it.. my husband will be in a suit tomorrow so definitely pulling out that line.

I really liked their meet cute and Hannah proving she can take someone down by flipping Jack on his back. I definitely like their chemistry already I think it’s an interesting idea that because she’s seen him on screen so often she already knows some of the expressions he makes for some of his feelings/moods.
I also can’t wait to find out what really happened with Jacks brother. I can definitely tell already I’m going to enjoy this one!

I fully agree about Liv. I’m a current (quiet ) bystander as my brother goes through a rough divorce. My sister in law whom I love has turned into someone I don’t recognize and a lot of it is due to the influence/advice of her sisters. I don’t disagree that family should be a sounding board but when like Liv they’re almost bullying someone into making decisions they might not make otherwise it’s hard to watch. I hope as the book goes on Liv will turn into a more supportive character.

I fully agree I think I’d feel more invested if I knew more about them. I feel like I jumped into the middle of someone’s drama and I’m not fully sure why I should care yet.
I do love when he starts flirting with her, you can tell that they’re going to have a fun playfulness once he starts to win her back over.

I started it last night and feel the same way. It’s a different idea with them already being married but I hope we still get those happy moments. I’m not a big fan of reading about fighting and divorce so I’m hoping it shifts quickly. It’s a popular book so I’m trusting it will end up being a great read!

The Bodyguard by Katherine Center is supposed to be pretty good.

I also got totally caught up in this one while trying to catch up and I had to finish it as well, but I took notes at each of the stopping points. I love how caring he is towards her and his menagerie of animals.I love that he clearly cares about her as more then a partner and wanted to pair up with her since the beginning. I also love the way her family is with him…

my only annoyance with this book is that 60% of the way through the book and the author is still describing people we’ve already met …

Just seems like a strange thing to do. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I definitely think Lukov has been watching Jasmine for a long time and there’s more to this partnership then he’s letting on. I think there’s a lot of heat between them that is going to mean some great chemistry. I hope he brings out a softer side of her, I like Jasmine but she’s so aggressive, which I feel is probably because she’s been fighting for what she wants her whole life but she’s just so combative all the time.

Also I think her Moms hilarious and I find it super annoying that the book keeps re explaining who people are - I get who James is you don’t need to tell me 4 times he’s her brothers husband.

I’m super behind but going to try and get caught up tonight.
