A new recipe, and a good one!Coconut Cream Pudding (2 servings)
2/3 cup (150 ml) coconut milk
1/3 cup (70 ml) cream
1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
1/3 cup (40 g) sugar
1.5 teaspoons (5 g) unflavoured gelatine powder softened in 2 Tablespoons water
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and stir over low heat until it reaches a good simmer (not boiling). Divide between 2 ramekins (about 7 cm or 3 inches in diameter). Chill for about 3 hrs or until set. Garnish with fruit etc.
Variation: Add a good tablespoon of cocoa powder to the mixture and blend well before heating.
I remember them too...it was fun to pick which characters would be on this school year's lunchbox! I had Snoopy and I think the Pink Panther. But then Mom got these ugly teal-coloured plastic boxes from Thermos because they were sturdier.

At my school you paid by the week on Mondays for school lunch. I guess you could pay by the day (45c it was then!) but I never saw anyone carry their lunch after about 2nd grade, until I started carrying my lunch in highschool. And then it was only me.
That woman obviously misunderstood. When they offered her makeup, she thought they said "Fake up!" so she did.
This isn't a "hate" but just an oddness. I was remembering yesterday that in my little rural Midwestern town for some reason they used to post the school lunch menus for all the schools in the district in the local paper once a week. Why, I couldn't tell you, it's not like anyone would decide to come eat with us! But anyway. They would list all the food and then at the end, "half pint milk." Well, okay. It came in cartons, and later those plastic bags with sharpened straws. It was half a pint, yes, but half a pint is also one cup. Did "half pint" sound like more? Was it supposedly classier to say that than "8 oz milk" or "one cup milk" or whatever? These be mysteries.
From my friend Elizabeth: "Faith isn't about blind acceptance. Faith is often stubbornly clinging to what we know of God in the face of opposition."

In Spanish they say of takers: If you give him a hand he'll take the arm too.
Anyone else hate the new Goodreads email format for books read by "friends?" Apparently we don't get the reviews anymore, which is what I wanted in the first place!
Or put him in a safe room, and set him on fire on purpose. See how he likes it.Oops sorry. Depression's pit yawned unexpectedly at my feet the last few days and I am dealing with it without asking for meds. So it's Valerian, herbal tea, comfort movies and making cookies. Doesn't really cure anything but I manage.
