yesss... it really does.
exactly as Taryn said to Jude haha

yes! it was exciting to read, and i liked that Jude had a chance to use her immunity to poison. i did get some princess bride vibes from that part, though lol

i just finished!!! i LOVED the book, and it was great to read in the perspective of such a strong and smart character. when Jude pulled off her scheme at the end i was so surprised! i'm scared how her relationship with Cardan is going to be affected by this... but i love them both sm lol. BUT TARYN. wow. i never liked Locke too much; he was kinda charming at the beginning (but besides i was already in love with Cardan even then) but never seemed honest. i kept waiting for him to betray Jude. so i'm mostly mad with Taryn for letting Jude start to like Locke knowing she'd end up messing up her sister's trust and everything. i liked reading the sword fight part though, or whenever Jude is fighting or spying :) WHEN SHE AND CARDAN KISSED omggg my heart XDD i loved it

ooh if you're taking recommendations, some fast series reads for me were The Lunar Chronicles and Six of Crows

haha maybe i won't finish tonight since i wanted to go to bed earlier, but tomorrow definitely :)

i'm only on 18 now bc of school, but i'll finish tonight or tomorrow. i actually get to go to the bookstore tomorrow... so i'm planning on looking for the second one! :)

it's great you're here! i hope school's been going well :)

ahhh i feel you (this is so late haha)

i think we should keep it open so people can read at their own pace, but maybe wait for the main group to be ready to start the second book around the same time. just a thought, but if people are ahead that would work too i guess

i think it would be awesome to read the whole trilogy together :)
lmk your opinions!

yes!!!!!! i'd love that :)))

i don't think they are... but this is my introduction to YA faerie worlds as well.
awesome!!! i'm so excited to finish the book :)

yeah, guess so
Bee, i loved the line you posted earlier, about what Taryn says regarding storybooks. it's so true, even if we don't always realize it, and also sets up the scene for bad things to happen

@BookLover, can you add a new folder for the wicked king? i'm having trouble setting it up :/ thanks!

yesssss that would be amazing!!! i'll make a section for that for those who'd like to read the whole trilogy!

:)

Averil, you can either talk about whatever you want in the topic called Finished (like BookLover said) or you can join earlier posts WITHOUT SPOILERS :)
i'd love to hear what you think!

**Cardan

i was expecting them to catch Jude the whole time i was reading that scene. Caradan was probably too scared/angry to think about anything else, but i feel like Balekin could have noticed.

i think that being human helps to make her even more brave, because she already stands out and will never truly belong in Faerie, so she is okay taking more risks and standing up for herself. Taryn wants to fit in so badly that she acts the opposite. i wonder if she'll be able to redeem herself throughout the book.
