Marcus traversed the house. If he wasn’t so dumb for this girl, he would use this chance to look around the house, find out who the witches were and what they were about.
But of course he wouldn’t.
Marcus followed the sounds of sniffing and found himself at a door. He knocked at it. “Witch. It’s me.”

Dante was staring at him.
Marcus felt it, but he refused to give the man attention. He wouldn’t lok. he wouldn’t look he wouldn’t—
“So,” Dante said, “are we going to acknowledge the fact that you lied to us about having a partner, Ace?” He tilted his head, and finally Marcus looked at him.

Dante DID, in fact, tell Caspian, but hadn’t said anything since Marcus came from the bathroom to sit down and eat. The only thing that made noise was the sound of cutlery against the plates, which cause Marcus to grimace everytime a fork grated against teeth.
“So,” he finally asked, the silence getting to him, “did you guys see the new moonball game?”

He steeled himself as she began to kiss his jaw, his neck… then he grabbed her face and looked at her in her blue eyes. “Why do I want to kiss you so badly? So MUCH? It messes with my—“
“Dinner is rea—“ Dante paused as he stumbled upon Marcus and Ace.
At the scene they made.
Then he screamed.

He wasn’t expecting that.
He was t mad about it though.
He relaxed a bit, and kissed her deeply, lifting her chin to kiss her better, smiling internally at the fact that she was slightly on her tiptoes. His hands came to box her in, his hands on the wall. “Fuck.” He breathed into her mouth, and grimaced internally. He would need to repent for the cursing.
Lord forgive him for the sins he might commit tonight.

His eyes were glazed over with something like… he couldn’t explain. He wanted to kiss her. He wanted so badly to kiss her. He pressed forward, and before he could think about it, he pushed her against the wall.

Oh god her legs were showing.
Her long, slender legs, which were covered in freckles, so. Many. Damn. Freckles and oh god.
The loose button down was also very nice.
Marcus internally questioned if he would be in the wrong to grab this girl and kiss her right here, right now, no cares given.
Because he wanted to kiss her.
Lord, did he want to kiss her.

He knew all the women he had been with before had found that… “hot” were the words they used.
Though Marcus was a virgin. He had barely done anything, being stuck inside of a Cathedral half of his life, and saving his virginity for Jesus Christ.
But god, what he wouldn’t do to see Ace.

Marcus grunted , and rubbed his shoulder where Ace had punched it. “Then you MoM’S fRiEnD’s BoYfRiEnD is NOT a Venandi. He’s a traitor. And I thought it would be better if I didn’t tell a house of witches I’m a witch HUNTER. Wouldn’t want to have to kill all of you, witch.” He said, booping Ace in her nose.
Then he smiled. “Your mother is attractive. I see where you get the good looks from.”

“What do you mean?” Dante asked, tilting his head.
Marcus explained. “As in, Aenia is so under protected that a man was so readily available to attack and destroy a central part of it. Seems quite terrifying to think about.”
Dante nodded, deducing the information, before turning to Cas. “Will you need help cooking, darling?”

Dante spent a moment glaring at Marcus, before relaxing his eyes. “Did you hear about how the theater event was a n attack from the rival land?”

Marcus had a wide grin on his face as he said, “I’m Marcus. Your daughter’s FRIEND, not boyfriend. I assure you if she had one, it wouldn’t be me.”
Dante nodded, then fired another question at Marcus. “Who do you work as?”
Marcus grimaced, glancing at Ace for help, before looking at Dante. “I’m a… carpenter?”

“I’m Ace’s boyfriend.”
A loud “WHAT” came from somewhere in the cottage, and Caspian grimaced. “Sorry. That’s my husband.”
The said husband appeared out of nowhere, who came right to Marcus’s chin, but was still somehow taller than his wife. “Ace you didn’t tell us you have a BOYFRIEND.”

“Sorry, um, give me a Moment.” Marcus grabbed his dagger and shoved it in the back of his pants, throwing his shirt over it, and started to tuck his white pants init his black boots. Then he stood. “I’m ready.”
And he had an evil idea.

Around them, the world started getting less sparse, and more… magicky was the only word that suited it. Dots of a whispery gold peppered the world around him, providing light. “Halolights.” Marcus said, touching one. His hand went through it. “I thought these things were rare?”

They were close.
“And I never said I couldn’t kill you because you were pretty. So why would you assume?”
Unless she read his mind, which… pretty or not, he would KILL her for. Venandi be damned, no ONE read his mind.

“And maybe I do want to meet your people. We already made it clear that I can’t will myself to kill you.”
And he was weak for it. He was so fucking weak for not being able to kill the first pretty girl that came along. Lord knew how many people she hurt and how much damage she had done.

Marcus immediately regretted it as soon as the girl stood straight up. She babbled on and on about needing to go and how sorry she was, before she headed out.
Marcus rolled his eyes. In what world did she think waking home alone was a smart idea? He stood up and followed the girl, his hands in his Venandi jacket. “Witch. Where do you think your going, all alone?”

He wasn’t sure what to do.
Should he say something? Just leave her head there? Offer tk bring her home? Lord have mercy he wasn’t—
Christ.
