1114052 I'm super excited to say I've already had several authors reach out wanting to participate in our giveaways.

While we will do some giveaways that are just for fun, I want to make sure we are helping these amazing authors out too. Meaning, many of the challenges, giveaways, and contests will be read/review based. I'm also open to suggestions on giveaway ideas to keep things fun while still supporting the purpose of the group.

Happy Reading!

Leon, I just checked it out. That's really a neat idea. I wasn't familiar with any of the authors featured, so I'm excited to come across new to me work. I even added a couple to my TBR, and requested a preview of Hood. I'm a sucker for an awesome cover!

1114052 The Raveling (#1 The Crimson Queen, #2 The Silver Sorceress, #3 The Shadow King)

The Crimson Queen

Long ago the world fell into twilight, when the great empires of old consumed each other in sorcerous cataclysms. In the south the Star Towers fell, swallowed by the sea, while the black glaciers descended upon the northern holdfasts, entombing the cities of Min-Ceruth in ice and sorcery. Then from the ancient empire of Menekar the paladins of Ama came, putting every surviving sorcerer to the sword and cleansing their taint from the land for the radiant glory of their lord. The pulse of magic slowed, fading like the heartbeat of a dying man. But after a thousand years it has begun to quicken again. In a small fishing village a boy with strange powers comes of age . . . A young queen rises in the west, fanning the long-smoldering embers of magic into a blaze once more . . . Something of great importance is stolen – or freed – from the mysterious Empire of Swords and Flowers . . . And the immortals who survived the ancient cataclysms bestir themselves, casting about for why the world is suddenly changing . . .

Living the Way

Book #1 summary - When a global pandemic wipes out 60% of our population, those that are left must choose between the safety offered by the Church of The Way, or take their chances outside the walls in territories overrun with violent gangs.

Anna has spent her life being told the only way to survive this new world is to commit to The Way, but when she and her BFF 4 Life get the chance to step outside the walls, she starts to realize everything she's been told is a lie. Of course it doesn't hurt that she meets a hot piece of man candy in the process.

But if everything she suspects is true, will Anna and her friends be able escape or...

Join Anna, her BFF, & possibly her future hubby as they discover the truth.

1114052 Starting in the 4th quarter, I'd like us to try out selecting one series to read each quarter throughout the year. We will vote in the 3rd month of each quarter, and then once we select a series, you will have 3 months to read it.

Discussion will going up for our first one on October 1st.

Since the whole purpose of this group is to support Self-published authors, I'm going to do a giveaway with this. Everyone who reads and leaves a review will be entered to win a $25 Amazon gift card. I will start a separate thread where you can share the link to your review. Once it's been verified, you will be entered in the drawing. There will be ways to earn extra entries, such as posting review on GR & Amazon, as well as sharing your review to IG. I'll post more details when we get started.

Be sure to vote. In the next little bit I will post summaries on the nominations so you don't have to do the research yourself.

Happy Reading!

1114052 Since it's hard to choose BOTM's that are part of a series, I had an idea that maybe we could do one or two book series a quarter or even a year. We could stick with series' that have no more than 4 books, and we'd have 3 or 4 months to read them, with a thread and discussions going on throughout that time. This would be separate from our BOTM, maybe we could call it Series of The Quarter?

What do you think?
