1114052 The following 7 books have been selected from our bookshelf, and may not be authors in our group, but this will help us get started. By leaving a review for one or more of the following books, you are eligible to submit your own book for the next pool.

Remember, you must request to read a book from the pool. Once you have commented, if the book you selected hasn't received a review already, I will reply back accepting your request. (I'll mark the ones that are no longer available, but I'm asking you to wait for your request to be approved just in case you request one I haven't had time to mark unavailable yet.)
Pool 1 (40 new)
Mar 20, 2021 03:33PM

1114052 This is the first pool for our new review swap program. Our review swap will be organized and managed by me, so please be patient with me as I get this going. After we get going and are only reading authors from this group, the authors will need to be able to provide the reader with a free copy to review. (KU, PDF, MOBI, etc.)

I have used a random generator app to select the 7 books from our bookshelf that will get us started.

**To read/review a book, please comment which one you want to review (In the future, you would also indicate which file type you want)

**Once you have read the book, leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads.

**Then, if you are an author and want to submit your book for the next pool, you will submit the links to your review in the "Add My Book To The Pool" thread. (There will be rules and details in that thread too, so be sure to read them once they are up)

**Once you have reviewed a book, and submitted the links, you're eligible to be added to the next pool of books.

**You can review as many books as you want. For every book you review, you are eligible to receive one review in return.

**If you are eligible to receive more than one review, you can choose to add those to a book you already submitted for review, or you can request to add another one of your books to the pool.

**Only ten books per pool. Once we get to ten, I'll get ready to open a new pool.

**If there are books in a pool that haven't been reviewed, and I'm ready to close that pool, for any reason, those books will be automatically moved to the next pool.

**Remember, the more authors we have in our group, the more likely you are to get a lot of reviews, so please go invite all your friends.

**If you are not an author, you can still choose a book to review from the pool, but instead of leaving your reviews in the "Add My Book To The Pool" thread, you will add it to the "Reader Only" thread.

Remember, this will be a lot to manage, especially at first, so please be patient with me, and if you have any ideas on how to make this work better, please message me.
Review Swap (33 new)
Mar 20, 2021 03:13PM

1114052 Since we are getting so many authors in our group, I was thinking we should set up an organized review swap. Getting it started will be the hard part, because I want to make sure anyone getting reviews, is also giving reviews.

So, for the first pool, I'm going to select 7 random books from our bookshelf, and add them to pool 1. If you are an author, and want your book reviewed, even if it's not in the pool, comment which book you want to review. Once you have left a review on Goodreads and Amazon, you'll comment on the "Add My Book To The Pool" thread. (Rules will be posted on that thread) Each review you leave, will make you eligible to receive a review from someone else.

After the first pool, things will be much easier, and there will only be books from authors in the group who have left a review for someone else's book.

Give me a bit to get everything set up, (And I'll use a random generator to select the 7 starting books) and create the threads in this folder.

If you aren't an author, you can still review books in the thread, you just won't earn any reviews, obvi 😂 There will be a separate thread for non-authors to leave their review links.

This is a great way for authors to support other authors. I hope we have a lot of participation for this.

1114052 Alright everyone, using a random generator app, I narrowed our 9 choices down to 6. To those of you that did not get selected, don't worry, we will do this again this summer, and that's assuming your book isn't selected the normal way during a genre month.

Here are the 6 choices:

One Dark Night

Reasonable Lies

LOTTIE JONES AND THE MAGICAL REALMS: DRAGORON

The Mathews Family

War of the Twin Swords

My Dawn Is Only Five Hours Away

All 6 of these books are on our bookshelf, but I'll be working to move them to a new shelf titled, April BOTM. That way they are all easy to find, in case you want to read the synopsis before voting.

Our poll will be up later today, so be sure to vote. It will be open until the 26th.

Remember authors, reviews help, so even if your book isn't selected, we ask that you still read the chosen book, and leave a review. Your support will absolutely be returned!

Yes they absolutely should. Authors supporting authors is so important. Several are, but I can try to encourage more to do so. Thanks Trana

To start, if you are an author with works of poetry, please tag them here. You can also tag other works of poetry, but please keep it to self-published.

1114052 Don't forget, authors, the best way to ensure your book gets more reviews from the group, is for us to have more members. So, on the top right of the groups homepage, click on invite members, and then click all, then invite. Let's get those numbers up!
