1107032 I just deleted about 30 accounts of members who have not been active since 2020. Of course they are always welcome back.

Also, not that they have not been active in this group, they have not been active on goodreads in anyway. Everyone else in our gathering has at least come on within the last few months to check their profile if not more. ML and Iiavali have been missing in action so I temporarily removed their moderator title so that the group does not appear to be stagnant. If you have interests in becoming a moderator just let Tomas or myself know. We are both fairly active and wouldn't mind the extra set of eyes.

1107032 I'm not working on anything at the moment. I could give you a beta read if you'd like. I just reposted our forum link in Coursera. We should see a few new faces enter this week.

1107032 Just started chapter 11 of 'The Sunset Slayer' and I'm very thankful to have listened to 'Twilight.' I feel the author had really good inner dialogue that strengthened my ability to cast romance. As I'm going through my 1st re-write of the book my beta readers are applauding how much it has improved.

How's everyone else doing? Working on anything?

1107032 No worries this is your thread!
You and Elenor are right about the same place. Almost done!

1107032 Wow congrats on chapter 19. At 20 the course finishes, do you feel your going to wrap everything up next chapter or will you continue writing?

I was finally able to end my book on chapter 24.

1107032 I just started my second draft of my working title, "The Sunset Slayer".

Now its time to rewrite my story. Time to act as though I knew what I was doing all along. I'm hoping to have this beta ready by Christmas. Possibly published early next year.

1107032 LOL. It's possible if you have an energy drink that time will stop for you!

1107032 I see. I didn't read it so I had the pleasure of enjoying the narrators voices for the characters. I enjoyed how they came together as a family all playing their part as actors in what they saw was a big game.

Hearing the unfamiliar names would have concerned me especially since I was not aware that he set the tone of the book to be based off of Venice. However, the narrator provided a rich accent and once I realized this was influenced by the Italian culture I was able to sit back and enjoy the book.

At first the swearing was off putting but knowing that swearing is common vernacular in communities of poverty. This then made me feel as though it were a bit more authentic.

Overall I like movies like Oceans 11. This to me felt similar in how the plot unraveled. I also didn't care for the flashbacks but because of them the predictability of the book caught me multiple times. I do feel that if I had read it, it might not have been as interesting with me trying to focus on sounding out unfamiliar words, places and names.

1107032 Thank you sir. I was listening to the audible versions of the Gentleman Bastards as I drove and I highly recommend the first two books.

1107032 It's great. The first day or two is a little rough getting comfortable in such a tiny space but once your set up its very relaxing being in a small environment.

1107032 I'm back. Did you miss me? 2 weeks on the road in the RV. Back to work... sigh.

1107032 Absolutely. Just keep writing and eventually the reviews will start catching up to you. Brandon Sanderson had 9 books written before he became a published author. George RR Martin was a chess coach before someone finally liked his Game of Thrones. The book market is a hard vault to crack but it seems dedication to the craft pays off in some form or another.

1107032 That's awesome! I wonder if I pay for a copy and leave a review they shouldn't be upset about it if I'm actually purchasing and reviewing work right?

I'm Tomas, an upper 15k rated author.
