Let's start this group with some guidelines. The idea is to read a book related to Java/Scala/Kotlin/etc. or general software programming every two months. That will give us plenty of time to read it but, of course, it's optional.

The book will be selected based on the comments in this thread and votes on our official list. Please, add/vote your favourite books to the list.

It will be also updated in our bookshelf and we'll open a thread in the forum to comment the book and provide feedback about it.

We'll start with Programming in Scala because it's a good choice. The book covers more languages than Java and this book is quite good also for Java developers who would like to have a better understanding of Functional Programming and some of the new Java features.
