Vixen took a deep breath. She couldn’t panic now. Not when they were so close. She looked down the line of people and nodded. Showtime...
Vixen caught up and looked where she was pointing. “Yep, there he is. Everybody ready?” She asked, looking around at the group.
“Take a left up here.” Vixen told the group. “Then we will keep going past three more exits and then it’s the 4th one in the right.” She hoped they would hurry. She was in the verge of panicking.
Vixen closed her eyes and visualized the map again. “It should lead us into the main hallway where our target’s room is.” Vixen whispered. “We will have to be careful as we exit.”
Vixen brought up the rear of the group. She kept glancing back, hoping that nobody would hear their movements. The longer they stayed in the vent, the more claustrophobic she became. No. I have to keep going. We have to complete out mission. Come on Vixen. Just breathe...
Vixen fought down her fear and panic and managed to replace the vent behind them, securing it loosely. She took one last look out of the slats and turned around. She motioned for the group to start moving. Time to complete our mission...
Vixen fingered locket the always wore around her neck. She took a shaky breath. Breath. Just breath. She kept telling herself. She motioned for the group to continue on.
Vixen met Iko’s eyes and tried to calm down. They were on a mission and she couldn’t let her silly fear get it the way if their goal.
Vixen followed last. Right before she crawled in, she took a deep breath. She was claustrophobic and hated small spaces. Come on Vixen. Keep it together. You can do it. Just don’t think about it. And she crawled in.
Vixen looked at the group. “Eva, keep us hidden. Snow, can you get the vent?” She scanned the halls, making sure nobody was coming.
Vixen closed her eyes again and visualized the map. “There should be an air vent around the next corner to the left a dozen yards.” She said quietly.
Good job Serenity. Vixen silently cheered. She took a cautious step forward and no alarm sounded. “Ok, we’re clear.” She whispered to the others.
Vixen glanced down the hall suspiciously. “There must be some sort of sensor.” She whispered. “Can anyone disable it?”
Vixen took the group down the long hall. She didn’t like how empty and bare it was. It gave her the chills, but she put in a brave face.
“Sh!” Vixen motioned. She moved closer to Jayla and whispered very quietly. “Just wait for orders. We might need you in a moment.” Vixen then turned away and led the group tot eh left down a long and spacious hallway.
Vixen stayed to the shadows. She closed her eyes for a moment, visualizing the map she memorized. “Left.” She said in sign language.
