I read If You Go Down To The Woods by Seth C. Adams. It was a fast read for me and reminded me of the Standing Alone Era...no cell phones, kids gone all day outside playing, the bully and his friends. *spoiler alert* the dog makes it :)

I read The Hidden One by Linda Castillo. It is #14 in her Kate Burkholder series about a police chief who had been Amish, and the town she is police chief in has a lot of Amish and the crimes they commit or have committed against them. I've read 3 or 4 of these books now, kinda skipping around the series, and its ok they do fine as stand-alone books. Eventually, I'll read them more in order. I like the series, her relationship with her significant other, and her determination to solve crimes.

I read the Last To Vanish by Megan Miranda for this and for my FB book club group. I've read one other book by her and liked that. It was kinda slow for the majority of the book and then escalated quickly the last couple of chapters. The main character, Abby, plucked my last nerve and her workmate, Georgia, was worse. It was alright but nothing to write home about.

Inadvertently, I read a few books for this one this month. I planned on reading Long Time Coming by Edie Claire on my kindle for this. Then, when I was looking at the covers again of the 2nd and 3rd books of the The Kingdom Of The Wicked series, I realized that those also have flowers on the covers. So that series (especially the 2nd and 3rd books) were spicy spicy and made me think maybe I shouldn't enjoy a book so much about someone doing the nasty with the devil rofl. The book on my kindle, Long Time Coming, was what I call easy reading... no being anxious on what may be coming up or super crazy plot twists. overall, all books this month were enjoyable.

Just finished Matters of the Heart by Danielle Steel and Shew, that was emotionally draining. I normally enjoy her books but that was tough.. sorry pathetic humans actually exist and do exactly what Finn did to Hope. Gaslighting, narcissism, mental/physical abuse...ugh...happy she found her peace

Finished Down A Dark Road by Linda Castillo. I was surprised when I read one of her books last year and enjoyed it. At some point I'll start at the beginning of the series and read the remaining books in order, but its nice that they don't have to be read that way really
