This was the second time I read the book, and as I will do this weekend, if you have Elegant Complexity handy, it helped explain some of the concepts that I may not have gotten on my own. One thing they mention alot in Elegant Complexity is the idea of cycles, and how the comparison between Gately not being able to speak, and Hal not being able to speak are tied together.
It also talks about what may have happened between November YDAU and November YG

I got behind, but around 780 right now.

Behind. Heh. And my birthday is on July 8th, so I'm likely to miss the mark possibly again. =/

I wish I could offer some insight but I'm currently 30 pages behind. I am enjoying that we've captured the Port Washington meet and also visit the Ennet House in this chunk.

That looks like it was alot of work!

I think the dialog between Orin and Hal at the end of this section was one of the most funniest parts of the book so far.

Now that we're discovering more locations in the book, this is super interesting. A map of locations in Infinite Jest.

Everything should start coming together in the next two reading goals. Thoughts?
Jenny wrote: "And someone else made it seem like we should discuss here to limit spoilers in Facebook. ;)"That's me, bc I think there's lots of good discoveries of characters linking together and since the Facebook group isn't structured, I was trying to promote section based discussion and questions here.
Emily wrote: "i've been reading this on ipad/iphone and physical book copy. i have gotten lost soooo many times already with the multiple chapters labeled the year of the depend adult undergarment...but, at leas..."I'm thinking I'm gonna be 2 milestones behind for the rest of the reading, maybe until the end. =/

Let's keep talking. What is everyone think so far?

Thanks for updating to the new thread Karen. =)

Full disclosure, I'm behind, but wanted to create this topic as a placeholder to get people talking. =)

I too read this during the Infinite Summer group a few years ago. Looking forward to digging even deeper this time around. I even bought the Kindle version to help with footnotes. :)
