'To All the Boys I Loved Before' series by Jenny Han were a quick read for me and very good! I was a little put off by the third book, but the ending made up for it and I read it with a friend and we enjoyed talking to each other about it.

I meant to read 'The Lost Girls of Paris' by Pam Jenoff for my pop sugar challenge because it fit a topic and it was recommended to me (by the other moderator Christi) so I am hoping to read it this year!

'Red, White, and Royal Blue' by Casey McQuiston! I will put this book in any and every topic it fits because it is an amazing book!!!

'Catcher in the Rye' by J. D. Salinger I know used to be a banned book (might still be some places?) but I personally did not enjoy it. It did not seem to have a plot and was very random.

A nonfiction book I read a couple years ago for another prompt was 'Nagasaki: Life After Nuclear War' by Susan Southard that I found really interesting and a good read as this was a topic I did not know much about. It's about some of the events leading up to the second atomic bomb, what happened when it went off, and the aftermath.

Helen Hardt has written over 20 books (if you like romance/erotica books), Jodi Picoult (usually told from multiple perspectives), and Cassandra Clare. I like all of these authors.
Sonya wrote: "I didn't read much this week. I hate that I'm starting the year off in a reading slump.
But I did manage to read 30 pgs of 'Reverie' by Ryan la Sala which is intriguing so far because it makes no..."How is Thunderhead? I've read Scythe but haven't yet picked up #2 because it took me soooo long to read #1!

A reread of a favorite book from the 2019 prompt because I'm a big rereader of books and read Sarah J. Maas's 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' and 'Throne of Glass' series every year.

'Blue Bloods' by Melissa De La Cruz is a vampire book series, and #1 is called 'Blue Bloods', and I'm pretty sure the TV show of the same name is about a Police team.

This book basically fits in like anywhere, but 'Red, White, and Royal Blue' by Casey McQuiston, but the main character and his family/friends are in their 20's! I LOVE THIS BOOK!

For this week I continued with my graphic novel series I started the week before, and read books 4 and 5 of the Amulet Series by Kazu Kibuishi. These were 'The Last Council' and 'Prince of the Elves' which I found good! My students love this series so I thought I'd try it, also because I needed to read some books quick to finish my Goodreads challenge last year!
I've started 'Captive: A Mother's Crusade to Save Her Daughter from the Terrifying Cult Nxivm' by Catherine Oxenberg for my book club tonight, and it's really good so far! I've read 80% of the book in a day lol, and it's very interesting and not something I'd normally pick up, which is why I love challenges and book clubs! Full review to come next week!

For the (half) week of Jan. 1-4.

Hi! I've decided to at (or near) the end of the weeks during the year a thread to check in. Just to see what we've read that week and any topics we've fulfilled. Just a fun little way to see how everyone's doing and what we're all reading, especially if a really good book we're reading doesn't fit a topic! Please feel free to check in weekly :)
Also, I know this really helped me last year find books and keep myself accountable. It was also nice to review the books weekly I read and see how many I read and share with others!

'The Great Gatsby' by F. Scott Fitzgerald was placed in the roaring 1920's. I read this a couple years ago and personally did not enjoy it much, but it was a quick read for me.

'Red, White, and Royal Blue' by Casey McQuiston
'Five Feet Apart' by Rachael Lippincott
I read both of these in 2019 and loved them!

‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ by Sarah J Maas, all the books in this series have long titles! My favorite series 😍

'Insatiable' by Helen Hardt is getting published in January 2020! #12 in the series

My birthday is June 20, and next year Helen Hardt is publishing book 13 of the Steel Brothers Saga, and I intend to read that!

I know that ‘A Shade of Vampire’ by Bella Forrest is well over 20 books. Haven’t had time to read them yet.

‘Dirty Book Club’ by Lisi Harrison was a good book about a newcomer being invited to join a book club, and find out how it was founded and why along the way. So good!
