103181 OK, I finished Burned by Persephone Nicholas a week or so ago and am looking forward to reading More Money For Shoes (hopefully it will help me run my business and live in the manner to which I am usually accustomed). I'm also reading this little ditty called Avenger by Chris Allen and can't get through it quick enough! AWESome thrill-tastic read. And that's all I'm allowed to say about that :)
103181 Tell us a bit about what you've just finished reading, and what's on your TBR pile that you're looking forward to.... thriller or otherwise :)

Agree with you on that Ludlum has got the heart-pounding read down pat!

Rotten Gods by Greg Barron - good pick there! And Savage Tide - the opening scenes of that book are visceral and emotive in a gut-wrenching kind of way. Greg is a fantastic Aussie talent, and a great guy :)

I like all of Brad Thor's cover artwork! Cool guy!

103181 We'd love to find out what are your favourite ever book cover designs, and what is it about them that you love?

Chris loves the Ian Fleming Bond series of early paperback covers but Richie Fahey did a fresh series a few years ago which he is particularly fond of. I'm sure you'll see some of those!

I always loved looking at the copy of The First Stone by Helen Garner (below) which was a calming vision, although reading the book is not...

What are the covers you love, thriller and otherwise?

The problem with Alex Morgan is he always seems to be happy to move onto the next bird Steve... Charlie Fleming, case in point!

103181 I think I'd be Georgina / George from The Famous Five by Enid Blyton! I loved that series when I was a little tacker! Strictly a thriller? I'm not sure. Or maybe Arena Halls would be a good one to play, she is a toned and athletic and smart heroine ;)

103181 Some brilliant insights and robust discussion on Erin's Book Club Chat on Facebook tonight.

If you slept through it (Steve ;) here's the link below and a few tidbits from the conversation:

"Unfortunately, my career during the post 9/11 environment was keeping me very busy and so I wasn't able to review and re-write my manuscripts as quickly as I would have liked. Hence, the 10 years it eventually took."

"Social networking, particularly for new or aspiring writers is absolutely critical if you are serious about building awareness and drawing in an audience that will potentially be interested in your work."

"In the first novel Defender, I described Alex Morgan's blood being up as he prepared to hunt down a wanted criminal. At that point, Morgan was in his car and decided to play music that matched his mood. I used the album State of Emergency by The Living End. They're one of my favourite bands and that album is full of energy!"

"I graduated to classics like The Count of Monte Cristo and so on, absolutely loved those types of stories. But when I discovered Ian Fleming's The Man With The Golden Gun in the school library, I knew that I wanted to do what Fleming had done."

I would say that this is a case for Alex Morgan but it seems he's already involved and may in fact BE the problem.

I will escalate this complaint to the highest levels Steve and have it resolved ASAP. Unless, of course, you resolve it first by finishing the book!

103181 So, of all the movies, TV shows and books you're into at the moment, can you share a little about which Action Thriller Hero, Heroine or Villain you are most like?

We want to know who - what it is about them you resemble - and any other info you're game to share!
