I like stories about cats that have changed people’s lives and show us how to live with adversity and overcome it.
Homer's OdysseyA Street Cat Named Bob: How One Man and His Cat Found Hope on the Streets

Thanks Deborah and Rosemarie, they all sound good.,

I didn’t have another cat until Romeo 11 years ago and now I know I will always have cats.

Which do you prefer, male or female?
Older cat or kitten?
Breed?

Under this thread please post any books you have read about or featuring cats that you recommend.

In this thread general things about cats can be discussed.

I get so much from my cat who I got as a kitten but think in future I will adopt older cats who for whatever reason no longer have a home. I find Romeo is so much more affectionate as he has aged. When he was younger he was quite exhausting. Although Romeo is my cat he thinks my son is his brother and if he thinks I am threatening to Josh even when I am not (for example just by raising my voice a little)Romeo nips me. His defence of him is very touching. When Josh was away from home for a week Romeo wandered up and down crying and stopped eating. He was showing signs of grief. He calmed down when he came home.

Romeo and I have read
Macbeth this month. He loved it when I read parts out to him and gave this one 5 meows. Although I suspect he liked it most because it is a small book which I could read holding it in one hand leaving the other free to stroke him.

She’s called Spirit and is a tiny little thing compared to my Romeo who is quite a big cat. Hope you find your next charge soon. In the meantime I hope sharing of cat stories will keep you going.
The Camomile Lawn I know of but never read. Will have to see if Romeo fancies that one.

Post here what you and kitty have read this month.

Hi, My name is Romeo and I am the cat of the moderator, I am an 11year old medium haired cream/buff tabby. My carer was lucky to find me still at the Humane Society when I was a kitten and took me home. Several people would have loved me but she got me first. I am very intelligent and talk a lot with her, even though she talks a lot of nonsense. She is well trained and knows what all my chirrups mean and I don't have to sulk too often.
She likes classic fiction, mysteries and some contemporary. I love library books as they smell wonderful, especially when my carer cleans them with a disinfectant wipe before letting me near them. My excitement level goes right up then. Anyhow, got to go, I see dinner is ready.
