Your voices have been heard. A review group has been set up for memoirs at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... Please review the guidelines and, if you agree, sign up by posting the Goodreads link to your author page and your book page.

This is Non-Fiction Group 3 - Memoirs. As with other review groups, you will be expected to read and give an honest review of the books assigned to you. Assignments will be made after the group sign-up has filled.
Participants are expected to post reviews to Goodreads. If the review is positive (three stars or higher on Amazon), the review should be posted to Amazon (US and UK) as well, if the book is available there. This makes having accounts with both Goodreads and Amazon.com a requirement.
If a reviewer and the author agree that the review should not be posted to Goodreads due to quality issues, the reviewer is relieved of the requirement of posting the review. If this occurs in the first round, the second reviewer is relieved of the requirement to read and review the book. This is entirely at the discretion of the reviewer and is not intended in any way to manipulate the rating of any book.
Contact the authors you are scheduled to review to arrange to receive a review copy of their work. Note that Amazon has made a minor change in how reviews are displayed. As long as a review that is not verified as a purchase is recent, it will be displayed on the book's Amazon page. Once it rolls off, it will still be counted in the ranking of the book, but the link to show more reviews has been modified by Amazon to show only reviews that come from verified purchases. Authors may consider gifting their book to assigned reviewers so that they will qualify as verified purchases. Reviewers may bypass this limitation by offering to purchase the books assigned to them. All of this is voluntary. Authors may still provide review copies for free, and reviewers can still post reviews to Amazon that are not from a verified purchase. This change in Amazon policy has no effect on Goodreads.
Please post to this topic, both when you receive review copies and when you post the reviews.
If you are going to be late with your review, either post to this topic as soon as possible or message the author and the moderator.
If your book has not been reviewed by the deadline for either round, contact the review group moderator. This is necessary to make certain that the review process is fair for everyone.
Note that any participant who makes no effort to fulfill his or her commitment to this group will have all reviews of his or her work resulting from this group deleted and his or her membership in the Genre Specific Review Group will be terminated.

The review schedule has been posted in the first comment of this topic. Review the schedule and obtain review copies of the book assigned to you. Note that recent change to Amazon's policy about reviews means that reviews that are not verified as purchases may not appear on the Amazon pages for the book. If you want to be certain that the reviews on Amazon are seen, you may want to gift your book to the assigned reviewer. This policy does not affect reviews on Goodreads.
Once you have obtained a review copy of the book assigned to you, please post a comment to this topic. Also, when you publish your review, post a comment here, as well.

I'll be posting my review of R tonight (West African GMT). Thanks

Thank you for the comprehensive and complimentary review.

The books have been posted in the initial comment of this topic. Please review them and let me know about any conflict as soon as possible. I will post the review assignments in the next few days.

Because Reno has reviewed three books in this group already, I have reluctantly asked him to bow out of this group. He has agreed.
We now have eight books. We have not done an eight book group before, but we are going to try it with this one. I will post the books soon. In a day or so, I will post the review schedule. Please let me know about any conflicts as soon as possible.
R.

We have a problem. Reno Bastian has already read and reviewed three of the books in this group. There is no way for us to set up a review schedule without having reciprocal reviews with the six participants we now have. Do not start reviewing yet. We will have to work this out first.

When you have received a review copy of the book assigned to you, please post a comment here. Also, when you publish a review, post the Goodreads and Amazon links to that review.

We have seven books. I have selected John Matsui's first book to include in this review group. If he wishes to switch books, he can let me know before the review cycle begins. The initial post of this topic has been updated with the books. If you have not already, please let me know if there are any conflicts. I will publish the review schedule in a day or two.

Logistically, we cannot have two books by one author in a review group. Please pick one for this group.

The requested change has been made.

We have five books signed up. I do have a possible sixth, but the book is a little longer than the upper limit (approximately 47,000 words). I need to hear from the participants of this group about whether it is okay to include this book.
What do you say?

If that is the case, then this should have no effect on our review cycles, since each person can submit up to five non-purchase reviews per week. The article says that the policy change is intended to stop people from selling fake reviews.
