A former publisher and Luddite of old-world printing, Simon has been banging out ideas since the days of correction tape and typewriters (hey, it wasn’t that long ago). He lives in the Canadian Rockies with his wife and two dogs, and spends most of his time daydreaming, chopping wood, hiking in the alpine and hammering on the keyboard, usually with a little too much fervor.

Simon is currently working on Book Two of the Key of Life trilogy and a new urban fantasy series entitled, Gaia’s Assassin.

Persevere.
If all the stars align and you're standing at the exact spot where everything falls into place on the one night of the year when unicorns mate, you might just sell enough books to earn as much as you made working part-time in fast food during college. Put all of that aside. Write because it means something to you. Write because you have something to say.
But never forget the most important rule:
Listen.
Readers know more than you do. Your book will become a better work if you're willing to allow others to rip it to shreds. Be humble. People give advice because they care, because they have taken an ownership in the world you are transporting them to. At the same time, don't let that criticism discourage you. Believe in what you are doing while striving to be a better writer.(less)

“I had thought to send a gift basket of Alaskan delicacies and local produce but I figured that, frozen fish and a tree log, might send the wrong message…”
