“The freedom of the open road is lonely, seductive and absolutely liberating.”
My name is Aaron Lauritsen and that quote was taken from my book “100 Days Drive, A Road Trip Memoir”. It explains in simple terms the therapy I discovered on an unplanned and serendipitous road trip around North America, but the words could easily apply to any travel experience that comes at a crossroads in life.
This group is about discussing travel works that are raw, intimate and that take the reader out of their comfort zones, off the beaten track and into a journey of discovery. Members are encouraged to share stories and add related titles and my hope is that by doing so we will be able to identify a collection of the very best that literary travel has to offer.
