In his recently released book ‘100 Days Drive’ author Aaron Lauritsen chronicles a therapeutic road trip he did around North America in 2013. In it he describes a voyage of discovery, which came about accidentally, but that morphs into a spiritual journey that unlocks long forgotten memories of growing up with a single mother, being a small business owner, serving with the military and of starting all over after a lengthy divorce.

It begins by Aaron selling his business and putting a tenant in his house, then after packing up his Toyota pick-up truck with some camping gear and his dog Athena-Bear, he hits the open road intent on getting lost, then found somewhere. In the one hundred days that follow, together they traverse the Continent and

The book will profile the careers of service people and will likely feature three individuals from the military and three from the civilian first responder sector. Its an exciting opportunity for me to put a spotlight on those heroes who serve our grateful nation before I take on my next big '100 Day' travel adventure.(less)

After that I would like to return to travel writing. My dream is to build a series of books called '100 Days'. They will be like the one you have in that throughout the journey I will attempt to paint the ever changing landscapes I encounter, while I also immerse myself in local culture, chase its history, seek adventures and incorporate snippets of my own past.

The only difference is that the location and the means of transit for those books will change. So for example the next book might be called ‘100 Days Trek’ and be about experiences gained walking across a country or continent, or ‘100 Days Cycle’ and be about a bicycle tour of one hundred days duration. So all very exciting stuff, and I have lots of ideas of adventures to come, but first I need to have success with this one so I can keep living my writing dream!

To that end, if you have any questions throughout please don't hesitate to ask. Also I have posted several dozen pictures of the journey on Facebook and on Instagram that weren't included in the book, so if you’d like you can see those at https://www.facebook.com/100daysdrive and https://www.instagram.com/100daysdrive/ respectively.

Thank you for the question Connie and I hope you enjoy the read!

100 Days Drive: The Great North American Road Trip"Risk taking, space flight, life as a soldier and finding one's self: all themes explored in this memoir written by local author Aaron Lauritsen, and if I might add, done so quite well with openness and honesty.
