Stage

[close] A reading group focusing on the major works of drama and the theater. We will read plays ranging from the Ancient Greeks such as Sophocles and Euripides to the glorious word realm of Shakespeare. Among many others we will encounter Molière, Ibsen, Strindberg and Chekhov and hopefully explore many modern creative and innovating works for the stage.

[close] We will be exploring the wondrous world of written theatre! No that does not mean just Shakespeare. Suggestions are always welcome along with anyone who is interested.

[close] Why are Broadway tickets so expensive? Will the middle class get to see theater again? How do you score cheap tickets to the big shows? Join the conversation August 12-16, 2013, and share your thoughts and experience. Author Peter Wayner's new book "Attention Must Be Paid, But for $800?" is a financial detective mystery about the staging of "Death of a Salesman" in 1949 and 2012. He has done extensive research into Broadway economics and can compare then and now and difference between.

[close] This is a group for those participating in The Theatre Book Club! We are a book club for all of those who are involved in the theatre or those who want to be! Each month we will discuss a different play or book about the theatre. This is to allow everyone the opportunity to discuss their views and bounce off of others ideas and to challenge the way you see modern theatre. There will be a video meeting once a month on a specified date where we can all meet regardless of where we are in the world! The books we choose will mostly be modern but with a few golden oldies thrown in just for good measure! If there are any that you are desperate to review or think would be a good fit for the book club please feel free to send your suggestions to the moderator!
