[close] This group is a book club dedicated to the study and discussion of books about spirituality, philosophy, metaphysics, and other related topics. The intention of this group is to grow together in awareness and understanding as we explore ourselves, our relationships to others, the world around us, and the universe as a whole. *Note: while we are exploring topics linked to spirituality, we will remain non-denominational. All paths are welcomed and respected here!

[close] The idea is to find authentic books on shamanism, in both non-fiction and shamanism. Unfounded fantasy is not desired. We could, for instance discuss the differences and similarities between the Toltec based books of Carlos Castaneda and don Miguel Ruiz. Then we could compare those with the books of Michael Harner. Then we could address the fiction of Michael Gruber. His books, particularly the Jimmy Paz books, are well grounded in Santeria. It's a bit subject, but we want to weed out the inauthentic.
