[close] Objective of the Group , "Librarianship as a Profession" is to discuss, debate and critically analyze on the topics of Image, Status and Reputation of the Profession of Librarians. The Focus of the discussions should be on how best to build and sustain our profession and professional status. The group pledges to respect results of research in this regard. The group pledges to be knowledgeable and proficient on the Sociology of Professions. The group pledges to respect and study all that helps us understand our status ... and all that helps us be known, powerful and be useful and indispensable to Society.
