[close] This group is for students in Mr. Bales' first block Oral/Written Communication course.

[close] Our club formed in October 2014. We are partly social, but mostly focused on challenging ourselves by reading new books. We currently have 10 members, which is our maximum. Our book club includes women of various socioeconomic backgrounds, races, religions, etc. We are diverse in age, ranging from women in their 20s through 40s, and older. Work backgrounds include - a stay-at-home mother, middle school teacher, academic librarian, massage therapist, and professional artist. The name of the book club, "Movable Feast Book Club," refers to two important aspects of how we work. First, movable refers to the way the club meets monthly in the homes of different members or at coffee shops (especially during winter months). The types of books our club read are based upon what we are interested in, and is not limited by genre. Non-fiction, fiction, and poetry are all options. We read a mix of new and previously published works (for those of us who are cost-conscious, and prefer not to buy a new book each month). Our club meets on Sunday night at 7 pm, once a month. We like to meet at homes or coffee shops within a 10-15 mile radius of downtown Louisville. We also receive a 20% discount on our book of the month at Carmichael's.
