[close] On the publication of "Blackbirds in the Pomegranate Tree: Stories from Ixcotel State Prison" my own stories of the women I met inside, I invite comments from others on books you have read around this topic. My own (wrongful) incarceration in Mexico was shortlived, but since my return to the US I have worked in and with prison issues. Have you read anthologies of Prison Writing like "Doing Time" (editor Bell Chevigny) or any of Wally Lamb's collections? Have you read other memoirs by imprisoned women in the US or abroad?

[close] Students will have the opportunity to write reviews for their chosen texts for the semester.
