[close] We see symptoms of crises all around us, from the immediate "public health" pandemic of COVID19 to repeated "financial" crises to escalating "environmental" crises of anthropogenic climate change and other threats to Earth's systems. What are the underlying structural issues in our society that perpetuate such symptoms and suppress alternatives? To get to the roots, we will dive into the renowned but often avoided Capital Volumes I, II, III, where Karl Marx critiques and contributes to political economy. For beginners: welcome; there will be many resources provided and friendly comrades from all over to discuss with. For advanced: come sharpen your toolbox and share your experience. For example, David Harvey has taught Capital for 50+ years; the act of teaching allows you to apply your understanding and have it tested by fresh minds.
