[close] Done with religion does not mean done with God. It means we are done with trying to please God by performance. It means we no longer submit to mans rules and regulations. We realize that the Church is the body of believers and not a place we go. Religion says do this, don't do that and you will be a 'good' Christian. Religion tries to make us feel like successful Christians based on how well we follow the rules and how well we perform. We want to take our eyes off of following man made rules, regulations and gimmicks and focus entirely on Christ and living a life like His. If you have been in organized religion for any length of time, you may be feeling that there must be something more. Modern day church feels more like a business or large corporation these days. People start looking to the pastor as their spiritual guide and to the church for the answer to their spiritual needs. It seems we have taken our eyes off our first love, Christ, and put them on things that are about Christ. It is time to realize that religion is only man's attempt to please God. We start putting more focus and attention on the building, the pastor, all the meetings and happenings in the organization that we get away from our first love, Jesus. Living for Him is a daily lifestyle, not a Sunday only thing. We don't have to wait to get to church to hear His message, or pray, receive healing or serve others. The Holy Spirit is our teacher and guide and He lives within us. We are the temple of God. The Living Word is within us every day of our lives. He is not waiting at a building for us to show up. This group is here to help put your focus back on the one who died for us. While going to church is not a bad thing, making an organization our first love is. We realize that the true Church is not a building we go to, but the people who have accepted God's grace through Jesus Christ.
