[close] A group for the person who enjoys horror a little too much. Any horror related novel is welcome.

Too weak to protect them all...one by one...all of them either turned or eaten alive...please...if someone is out there and you find this recorder...please...run...because some of us are the cure. We are immu-" The voice stopped, and the sound of something breaking is heard, followed by blood curdling screaming. The tape then stops. The year is 2020. Technology has advanced slightly, but medicine has become much more than that. Cures for diseases like cancer and tuberculosis were found. But as these diseases began to be cured, a new disease had surfaced. It is caused by a type of fungus. Anyone who comes into contact or ingests it becomes deathly ill. This sickness is not curable, no matter what kind of or how many medications you take for it. This sickness causes the victim's body to melt internally, starting with the lungs. Then it spreads to the rest of the bodily organs, and slowly the body begins to shut down. Symptoms of being infected include: Bleeding from the eyes, nose, and mouth, coughing up blood, abdominal pain that spreads to the rest of the body, and eventually paralysis. As soon as the victims shows any sign of these symptoms, they must be killed or else they will infect everyone else eventually. The only way you can catch the disease from another person is by going in contact with the person's bodily fluids, such as vomit, spit, and urine, or being bitten. The government has cut off all power in the U.S, though running water still seems to be available. Will you be able to survive? Or will you get sick and die?

[close] A group created for all the horror fanatics out there, and those of you who prefer a 'disturbing' book every now and then. By 'disturbing', I don't mean a normal persons view of gore, murder, and terror... I speak of psychological twists and turns, ghouls, monsters, psychopaths, and books that wrench the very being out of your spineless body. It will vary between an assigned book, with allotted time to read (a decently long while), and it is completely open to suggestion, and voting.
