We'll be reading a variety of books that may fall into one of the following categories: 1-Written by a feminist and/or a woman 2-Plot looks at how gender, race, class, sexuality, ability/disability, ethnicity, nationality, etc. shape us and our views of the world 3-Spark conversation about social justice and gender equality 4-Have strong female characters But most importantly, it's a space for people to come together and discuss literature with other feminists! Reminder: Self-promotion is ONLY allowed in the BLATANT SELF-PROMOTION thread. All other self-promotion will be deleted. fem·i·nist /ˈfemənist/ Noun A person who supports feminism. [close] An informal group to share and discuss books, new and old and classic alike, on Asian American identity, histories, lives, society, and politics. Please add books that you've found meaningful, interesting, compelling, or useful to the bookshelf! When you add a book, please add it to one or more of the shelves ("identity", "fiction", "poetry", "politics", "theory", etc). If none of the shelves are applicable, go ahead a create a new one.

[close] This is an online book club created to fulfill the reading desires of feminists from the tumblr community. Anyone is welcome!

[close] Join us for a year of member-run group reads to make 2015 the year of reading women! Rules Members are free to create author threads by surname if they do not currently exist—but be sure to search the group first to see if a thread is already present before starting a new one! When creating new author threads, please be sure to link author (you'll see this just under the subject field) so that it shows up on the main Goodreads page for that author. This will allow others who are not members to still have access to this group's discussion threads across the entire site. We ask that members do not create other threads at this time; we will create them in the "meta" section as the need for them arises—e.g., there will be a threads for each month, to have a hand place where people can "advertise" their upcoming group reads in case others haven't seen them formed in the specific author threads. Regarding the sharing of books: what members do in private is their own business, but as a group, we cannot condone piracy, so any public posts regarding indiscriminate e-book sharing will be deleted by the moderators.
